🤪 W is for WACKY! 🤪

Here’s a wacky Wynnum Scout fact…

When Scouts first started, there were no fancy apps, GPS trackers or online badge systems… just maps, knots, teamwork and a whole lot of “let’s figure this out!” 🗺️🪢

And the really wild part?
Our little Scout Group has been adventuring for over 100 years — records show Wynnum Scouts were around as far back as the early 1900s!

Imagine how many muddy shoes, campfire stories, mystery smells from camp cooking, and “whose sock is this?!” moments have happened in that time 😂🔥🥾 �

Some things change… but Scouts being wonderfully wacky never does 💚⚜️

🌿 W is for Wednesday… and W is for WISDOM! 🦉✨
Wisdom isn’t just knowing the answers… it’s learning from the adventure along the way.

In Scouting, wisdom comes from:

🔥 the campfire that wouldn’t light the first time
🧭 the wrong turn that taught us how to read the map
⛺ the tent peg we forgot (and never forgot again 😂)
🤝 the moments we helped a mate before ourselves

Every challenge, every muddy boot, every “oops” moment becomes part of the story.

Because Scouts don’t just collect badges…
we collect experiences, skills, memories, and a little more wisdom with every adventure.

🌏 WILD SCOUT FACT!

There are more than 50 million Scouts worldwide… which means wherever you go — from Australia 🇦🇺 to Africa 🌍 to the Arctic ❄️

there’s a good chance there’s another Scout learning, exploring and creating adventures too.

One scarf. One movement. A whole world of adventure. ⚜️

This is why when we travel either in or out of the movement make sure to have your world scout badge on display.

Did you know one of the greatest things about Scouting isn’t just the badges, knots or camps… it’s the wonder it creates. 💚

It’s the moment a young person looks up at a sky full of stars on camp for the first time… 🌌

The excitement of lighting their first campfire 🔥
The pride of navigating their own way through the bush 🧭

Or discovering they’re capable of so much more than they ever imagined.

For over 100 years, Scouts across Australia have been helping young people explore, question, discover and say…

“Wow, I did that!” 🙌

Yes, yes… I know I’m running well behind schedule — I said 12 o’clock and it’s now closer to 2… but here we are! 😂

Did you know Scouting first arrived in Queensland way back in 1908? 🤯

That means for more than 115 years, young Queenslanders have been exploring, camping, learning life skills and creating adventures!

And here in Wynnum, we’re proud to be part of that incredible Scouting story — with generations of local youth, families and volunteers keeping the adventure alive. 🏕️🔥

Imagine all the campfires, muddy boots, friendships, challenges and memories made across more than a century…
