Young Voices Festival 2026 🌈🎵

Get ready for an afternoon full of music as we celebrate young voices united in song.

You’ll see our awesome Birralee Kids and Piccolos in action, along with other amazing children’s choirs from Yeronga State School , Ascot State School, Wooloowin State School and St Peter's Lutheran College Springfield. It’s a huge celebration of young voices coming together to sing, smile and make music!

Happy National Volunteer Week

During the month of May into early June, Voices of Birralee run the Queensland Youth Music Awards. This year is the largest season yet with over 6500 talented young musicians crossing the stage. With that being said, we could not run these awards without our wonderful volunteers.

Here is the team from last Friday absolutely ✨ glistening ✨ after packing away over 1000 chairs at the end of a huge Primary Choir night.

To all our volunteers, all year round, we thank you for your continued commitment to our organisation. We could not do what we do without your support. 💙

This special concert also marks the premiere of Luminara — Voices of Birralee’s newest all-women’s ensemble — adding a rich new voice to the Birralee family. ✨🎶

Meet the team 👋

Voices of Birralee is delighted to welcome Lizzie Brown as our new Event Officer.

Lizzie's connection to Voices of Birralee began as a chorister between 2012 to 2013, an experience that played a formative role in shaping her musical journey. She is delighted to return to Birralee in the role of Events officer, embracing the opportunity to contribute from behind the scenes. She is excited to be back with Voices of Birralee in this capacity and looks forward to contributing to the continued success of its events and programs. Lizzie is also currently undertaking PhD studies at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, where her research is focused on creating a new pedagogical framework that is neurodiversity-affirming for singers with Autism and ADHD.

To Allonville! Oh, Allonville!
The fields of respite there
are luscious green with waving wheat;
the skies are blue and fair.

Lay down your weary head, young digger,
the fields shall be your bed.
For a moment, let the breeze
blow away your troubles instead.

Here, in Allonville’s fragrant fields,
dotted with blood-red poppies blooming,
there are no guns, there are no shells,
no time for fighting, no time for brooding.

Silent are the screams of pain;
we’re far from the fight in the Somme.
A tree-bordered road leads the way
to a day where plays a new song.

Climb up the tress that border that road,
and reach up high to the sun,
soon you’ll be facing the battle, young digger,

Vox Choralis 🎵

Vox Choralis brings together the distinct and vibrant colours of the youthful Birralee Singers, the acclaimed Brisbane Birralee Voices and the strong camaraderie of the Birralee Blokes. This special concert also marks the premiere performance of Luminara, Voices of Birralee's newest project ensemble - an all-women's choir for singers aged 30 and over - offering a warm, resonant addition to the organisation's renowned choral family.

Together, these choirs weave a dynamic program that spans styles, generations, and choral sounds.
