Our Community, Our Future, Our Fund
The Bayside Community Fund has adopted a new slogan - Our Community, Our Future, Our Fund - to better reflect who we are, what we stand for and the role we want the Fund to play in the future of Brisbane’s Bayside.
At the heart of the new language is one powerful word: Our.
The Bayside Community Fund is not simply a fund for the community. It is a fund owned by the community, guided by the community and shaped in consultation with the community.
Our Community reflects the people who live, work, volunteer, operate businesses, raise families and contribute every day to making the Bayside a special place to call home. The Fund exists to strengthen that community and to support the organisations, initiatives and people who help it thrive.
Our Future recognises that the future of the Bayside is something we all have a role in creating. Everyone can contribute not only financially, but through their time, experience, ideas, networks, energy and vision. Every contribution has the potential to help build a stronger, more connected and more resilient community for generations to come.
Our Fund reinforces the idea that the Bayside Community Fund is a permanent community asset. It is being built collectively, with contributions invested to grow over time so that the benefits can continue flowing back into the Bayside community year after year.
Importantly, this is not a fund where decisions about the community are made in isolation. We want to listen, consult and engage with our community to understand where support is needed, where opportunities exist and how the Fund can make the greatest long-term difference.
The change from Lasting Legacy to Our Community, Our Future, Our Fund represents an important evolution in how we talk about the Fund. A lasting legacy remains an important outcome of what we are building, but our new language is more inclusive, more participatory and more representative of our purpose.
It moves the conversation from what one person may leave behind to what an entire community can build together.
Whether someone contributes financially, volunteers their time, shares their expertise, introduces a community partner or simply brings forward an idea, everyone has the opportunity to play a part.
Because ultimately, the Bayside Community Fund belongs to all of us.
It is our community.
It is our future.
And it is our fund.
