Information & Consultation Sessions For Persons Who May Be Impacted Upon By A Proposed New Native Title Claim

NTS Goldfields Ltd (NTSG) is convening information and consultation sessions in Kalgoorlie and Leonora to discuss a proposed authorisation meeting being held in Menzies on 21 September. The proposed authorisation meeting, advertised by Umanity Group, has been brought to NTSG’s attention, and NTSG has been receiving queries from constituents about it. Staff will be available at the below locations, during the notified times to meet with interested people.

Leonora
Tuesday, 15 September 2026 – 9.30am to 2pm

Kalgoorlie

CHANGE OF LOCATION - TJALKADJARA CONSENT DETERMINATION - MONDAY 14 SEPTEMBER 2026
Due to security and weather-related concerns, the Federal Court of Australia has changed the location of the consent determination hearing.
We regret to inform you that this hearing will no longer be held on country.

The determination hearing will occur in Perth, 11am Monday 14 September, at the Federal Court of Australia, Commonwealth Law Courts Building (1 Victoria Ave, Perth). The hearing will also be live streamed on the Federal Court's YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/FederalCourtAus).

We recognise that this outcome will come as a significant disappointment to many members of the Tjalkadjara claim group, who have been looking forward to marking this important milestone together.

Subject to the support of the Tjalkadjara Aboriginal Corporation, which will be the Registered Native Title Body Corporate for the Tjalkadjara native title holders, NTSG intends to hold a consent determination celebration at a later date.
We anticipate that this will take place before the end of the year, in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting of the Tjalkadjara Aboriginal Corporation and Common Law Holders Meeting.

Further details will be provided in due course, through the Tjalkadjara Aboriginal Corporation.

Native Title Consent Determination Hearing for the Tjalkadjara Native Title Claim
On Monday 14 September 2026, the Federal Court of Australia will make a determination of native title in respect of the Tjalkadjara native title claim (WAD 597 of 2028).
We congratulate the Tjalkadjara claimants on reaching this significant milestone and look forward to coming together to celebrate this momentous occasion.

NTSG congratulates the Waturta native title holders, following the determination of the Waturta native title determination application on Friday 12 June 2026.

This determination formally recognises the traditional rights and interests of the Waturta native title holders and reflects their commitment and hard work in bringing their claim to a positive determination.

The Lalalka Aboriginal Corporation ICN: is now thee registered native title body corporate for the determination which covers around 17,500sqm of land north of Laverton. The description of the native title holders recognised by the determination and the rulebook (which includes the application for membership form) can be viewed at:
