This National Reconciliation Week, we’re reflecting on what it means to be All In.

At iLA, it’s reflected in how we work - listening, learning and partnering with First Nations communities to design solutions grounded in real lives, culture and connection.

This week, you may spot iLA and LiveUp on a Reconciliation WA’s Street Banner. This year’s artwork, Murrunpa by Melissa Sunfly, highlights the importance of culture and connection in reconciliation.

Through initiatives like LiveUp, we co-design resources that support people to stay strong, independent and connected as they age. Reconciliation isn’t something we step into for a week - it’s something we build over time through relationships, understanding and action.

We’re dedicated to empowering older people to live and age well – and that includes supporting safe, evidence-based movement.

That’s why we’re connecting our communities with trusted resources like 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 and a new guided exercise series from our healthy ageing initiative, LiveUp.

𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸.

It’s something you’ve probably heard many times before, but staying active really does make a difference to your health and wellbeing as you age.

Here at LiveUp, we’re committed to making active, empowered healthy ageing a reality. We’re proud to support Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 and share it as a valuable resource you can use to connect with exercise professionals, discover expert advice, and find events near you.

Use this week and these resources together with LiveUp’s 𝗙𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗹 to kickstart healthier habits now and build the confidence to move more and stay well.

Confidence and independence are built throughout everyday life.

At iLA, we work to empower people and communities to live and age well by supporting practical, evidence-based approaches that build confidence and participation in everyday life.

𝗙𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗹, a 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 from LiveUp - an initiative of iLA, is one example of how guided movement can support strength, balance and confidence when introduced early.

It’s a simple, accessible way to support what many older Australians want most - to keep doing the things that matter to them.

Today, we acknowledge and thank mothers in all their forms - birth mums, step-mums, grandmothers, carers, and chosen mums.

Mothers play a vital role in supporting independence, dignity, and well-being at every stage of life.

This Mother’s Day, we recognise the care, strength, and love that help people live the life they choose. 💐

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at iLA.

Although 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 is over, the commitments don’t stop here.

Small actions done consistently make a big difference over time. So, keep building the habits that support independence, confidence, and wellbeing now and into the future.

Your participation, and everyday actions helped make the inaugural day a powerful step forward for healthy ageing in Australia.

Yesterday marked Australia’s very first 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 - a moment to focus national attention on prevention, independence and the everyday actions that help people stay strong, connected and living well as they age.

This year’s theme, 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, reminds us that healthy ageing isn’t about slowing down - it’s about having the capability, confidence and support to keep doing what’s important at every stage of life.

Thank you to Sam Rae for acknowledging National Healthy Ageing Day and helping spotlight the importance of healthier, more connected ageing across Australia.

To mark the day, iLA has brought together practical, evidence‑informed resources for individuals, communities and organisations to help turn healthy ageing into everyday actions.

Today is Australia’s very first Healthy Ageing Day; a moment to focus our national attention on prevention, independence and ways Australians can stay strong and connected as they age.

The Albanese Government is meeting the challenge of an ageing population with record investments in health and aged care – so that every older person in Australia can live safely, with autonomy, and connected to community.

The iLA has published a wide range of helpful resources to celebrate the day, just head to www.ilaustralia.org.au/healthy-ageing-day!

Today, we celebrated Australia’s first National Healthy Ageing Day.

The team at iLA proudly marked the occasion by reflecting on what matters most to us, taking part in a guided morning stretch, and enjoying some sunshine, meaningful conversations and (of course) cupcakes!

It’s been incredible to see so many organisations, individuals and peak bodies show their support for NHAD and share their own healthy ageing work and inspiring stories. Change happens when we work together, and our shared commitment can help shape a healthier ageing future for all Australians.

Today was a reminder for all of us that it’s never too early or too late to take steps towards living well as we age. Healthy ageing starts with the small choices we make every day that leave a lasting impact.

Thank you for being part of something special and helping us drive real national change. Find out more at: https://www.ilaustralia.org.au/healthy-ageing-day
