Sometimes the simplest conversations can make a big difference.

We loved spending Telethon 2026 alongside WA families, sharing free resources to make conversations about online safety, trusted people, health and asking for help a little easier.

And what an incredible weekend for WA. Together, the community raised a record-breaking $101,277,705 for WA children and families.

As a proud Telethon beneficiary, we’re incredibly grateful for the support that helps make programs like our Arclight program possible.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat, picked up a resource or grabbed some popcorn, and thank you Telethon!

We're proud to see Outcare's expertise contributing to important sector conversations, with Louise Dickinson, Service Development Lead, recently presenting at the Hatchery Conference on Integrated Risk Management Across Justice, Mental Health and Family Violence Systems.

Drawing on insights from Outcare's work across justice and throughcare services, Louise explored how fragmented systems can unintentionally increase risk for victim-survivors of family and domestic violence, and why more connected responses are essential.

This week, our Thrive team is heading to Katanning with a significant delivery of food relief to support people doing it tough.

For many in the Great Southern, access to emergency relief can be limited. That's why support from organisations like GIVIT are so important. Every food item, voucher and donated essential helps us respond to the needs of the people we support through our Thrive progam when it matters most.

While we can't always share the personal stories behind these donations, we see the impact every day. We see the relief, gratitude and hope that comes from knowing someone cares.

Many of us don't think twice about opening a laptop, jumping online, or accessing the support we need. But for someone trying to study, find work, or get their life back on track, not having a device or internet connection can make that next step a lot harder.

Through our partnership with Sam's Spares, Outcare recently helped a participant in the Drug Court program access a refurbished laptop, an Optus dongle and 12 months of data. Before this, they were relying on a shared family computer, making it difficult to study during their evening curfew hours.

Now, they're using online courses to learn about artificial intelligence, Python coding and small business management, with the goal of building a new career path. Having their own laptop is helping them stay engaged, keep learning and maintain the positive routine they're working hard to create.

A big thank you to Sam's Spares for helping make connection, learning and opportunity more accessible across Western Australia.

Every conversation matters. But what matters most is what happens next.

This National Child Protection Week, we're recognising the 2026 theme,"Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversation to Action."

At Outcare, our Child Safe Commitment is more than words on a page. It was designed with the voices of young people in mind, from the colours and visuals they helped shape to the language that speaks directly to them, not about them. We want every child and young person to see themselves reflected in our commitment and know that they are safe, respected, valued and heard.

Because creating child safe communities starts by listening, and grows when we turn those conversations into action. 💜

Confidence grows when young people are given the chance to be themselves, try new things and feel supported along the way.

That's exactly what we saw first-hand in our recent workshop led our partners at Dress for Success WA, where young people from our Bright Futures Youth Residential program took part in workshops focused on confidence, employment skills, wellbeing and self-expression.

Across the two workshops, young people grew in confidence, connected with one another, discovered hidden talents and stepped outside their comfort zones in a supportive environment.

A huge thank you to Kim, Sharon and the Dress for Success WA team for creating such a welcoming and empowering space.

Partnerships like this remind us how powerful community collaboration can be in helping young people believe in themselves and their future.

Djilba marks a season of growth, renewal and possibility across Noongar Country, with brighter days, blooming wattle and signs of new life appearing in the landscape.

It's a powerful reminder that growth takes time. Across the communities we support throughout Western Australia, we see that journey every day, as people build confidence, strengthen connections and create positive change in their lives.

Just as Country begins to emerge from winter, Djilba reminds us that even small steps can lead to meaningful transformation.
