Yesterday, CCF WA welcomed a brand-new cohort of 16 mentees and mentors to the 2026 Women in Civil Mentoring Program.

This year's program is made possible by our sponsors SRG Global and Group, with support from Apex Utilities and AFGRI Equipment Australia. A big thank you to the team from AFGRI, who generously hosted the first workshop in their training room and provided afternoon tea and welcome gifts for each participant.

After a meet and greet, program facilitator Rechelle Hawkes AM led the cohort through their first module, exploring personal growth and emotional intelligence. Over the coming months, participants will work through a high-impact program designed to strengthen retention, leadership capability and industry connection across WA’s civil sector.

Another big thanks to CCF WA Women in Civil Coordinator Kylie, who has organised the program every year since its pilot in 2021, and Erin, who helped the first workshop run smoothly and captured photos of the event. Well done, team!

This morning CCF WA welcomed 290 guests to our annual President’s Breakfast, featuring CCF WA President Leon Fogliani as guest of honour and expert construction sector forecaster Adrian Hart as our guest speaker.

We were also proud to launch the WA Civil Infrastructure 10 Year Outlook 2026–2036, prepared for CCF WA by Oxford Economics Australia. Adrian shared valuable insights into the report’s key findings, which point to a strong and promising decade ahead for Western Australia’s civil construction industry. CCF WA Members will receive a physical copy of the report in the coming weeks.

Perth Skillswest Careers & Employment Expo is a wrap! From July 23-25, CCF WA proudly hosted a booth highlighting the exciting range of careers available in civil construction. For us it was all about increasing awareness of civil construction as a career pathway – which involved a lot of explaining what civil construction actually is!

It was also great to see our Members Apprenticeship Support Australia - WA, COLAS Australia Group, Construction Training Fund, Ertech, Macmahon, Skill Hire and SRG Global there. And a big shout out to Main Roads Western Australia for promoting the civil construction apprenticeship.

Yesterday, 350 people joined us at Crown Perth for the 2026 CCF WA Women in Civil Lunch & Awards. More than the record attendance, it was the atmosphere that made the day: uplifting, generous and full of genuine support for women across our industry.
The event proudly supported Breast Cancer Care WA, whose Ambassador Amanda shared a moving insight into the vital care the organisation provides to patients, survivors and their families.

We also heard from the incredible Kate Chapman and Erin Connors, participants in the 2025 Women in Civil Mentoring Program, who spoke about their experiences and encouraged others to take part in the 2026 program.

Our program facilitator and three-time Olympic gold medallist Rechelle Hawkes AM then sat down with AFLW trailblazer Daisy Pearce for an inspiring conversation about leadership, resilience and backing yourself.

The event concluded with the presentation of the 2026 Women in Civil Awards. A huge congratulations once again to our winners:
