No parent or carer of a 0-5 year old will want to miss today's webinar with the incredible Melissa Lynch - a clinical midwife specialist and recipient of a NAIDOC Nursing and Midwifery Award and Excellence in Aboriginal Health Award.

Mel will share information on what to expect in the first five years of your child's life, developmental milestones and simple, play-based activities to support your child's development.

The webinar starts at 10am AWST / 12pm AEST and will run for an hour, including the opportunity for questions.

We’ve extended applications for our current Game Changer Grants round, giving Ember Connect mEmbers aged 18 to 25 more time to apply.

Applications now close at 11.59pm on Friday 7 August.

We’re offering 20 grants of $1,000 to help our young mEmbers take the next step towards a personal, educational, career or business goal.

Big news for Ember Connect.

We are thrilled to welcome Latoya Black Bolton as our inaugural Chief Executive Officer.

Latoya is a proud Noongar/Yamatji woman with more than 20 years of experience across government and non-government sectors, with a strong focus on education, community development and supporting better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This is a huge milestone for Ember Connect as we move into our next phase of growth.

Since launching in 2022, we have grown into a national digital community of more than 5,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and 1,100 allies.

With Latoya’s leadership, we are excited to keep growing our community, strengthen pathways across career, enterprise and mentoring, deepen our focus on younger First Nations women, and amplify the voices and experiences of First Nations women across Australia.

Welcome Latoya, we are so excited for what comes next.

The July Round of Ember Connect’s Game Changer Grants is now open.

We have 20 grants of up to $1,000 available for professional and personal enrichment projects for First Nations women aged between 18 and 25.

Talent exists everywhere - so we’re ensuring at least 40% of all grant funding from the July Round will go to regional and remote applicants.

What you need to know:
🔥Open to First Nations women
🔥Must be aged between 18 and 25 as of 1 July 2026
🔥Grants of up to $1,000 available
🔥Use the funding for any professional or personal enrichment activities
🔥At least 40% of all grant funding will go to regional and remote applicants

Applications close 11.59pm AWST Friday 31 July 2026.

🖤 Rooted in cultural safety and guided by strength, Early Sparks walks gently alongside mums through the precious early years, offering a flexible space to connect, learn and feel truly supported.
