The Waalitj Hub will be in Kwinana to provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people wanting to grow their business!

We’re connecting businesses with organisations that have real opportunities, focusing on meaningful, one‑on‑one conversations rather than group presentations. This format brings together organisations with current or upcoming projects and businesses with relevant capability for pre‑booked, one‑on‑one meetings. Our aim is to facilitate stronger connections, clearer conversations, and more effective outcomes for our businesses.

Businesses are given dedicated, one‑on‑one access to potential clients, an opportunity that can otherwise be difficult to secure. These conversations can explore opportunities, clarify requirements and review tender processes.

Meetings are available with Alcoa, City of Kwinana, Civmec and Cleanaway between 9am to 1pm. Current business clients can contact their coach or email [email protected] to register for a meeting!

Ten First Nations business owners have strengthened their networking, pitching and business development skills through a Waalitj Hub training program, designed to help businesses make the most of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA's inaugural SCOPE event.

Delivered over six weeks, the program supported selected Hub clients to prepare for the event, equipping participants with practical skills to build confidence, foster meaningful connections and pursue growth opportunities within the energy, defence, resources and infrastructure sectors.

Hub Business Coach Louise said the program was designed to ensure businesses felt prepared and confident before stepping into the event.

"Networking can be challenging, particularly in environments where business owners are meeting senior decision-makers. This program focused on building confidence, refining key messaging and helping participants approach these opportunities with a clear plan and purpose," she said.

"The goal was not only to support participants attend the events, but to ensure they could build genuine relationships and identify opportunities that support long-term business growth."
