Because of your community drive - and the generosity of your listeners - hundreds of brand-new toys have been donated to help WA children escaping domestic violence and entering crisis accommodation.

Combined with donations from guests at our Toy Bank Luncheon, this support means children who often arrive at shelters with nothing of their own will receive a gift that brings comfort, dignity and a small piece of normal childhood during an incredibly traumatic time.

As CEO Chris Chatterton shared, “When a child arrives at a refuge, they often have nothing – not even their favourite toy. Being able to give them something new that belongs only to them offers comfort, dignity and a small piece of normal childhood… This shows the very best of our community.”

These toys will be distributed in the lead-up to Christmas - a time that can be especially difficult for children and families affected by violence.

Farewell to Anirudh, our Events Intern!

Over the past 10 weeks, Anirudh has been an incredible part of the Variety WA team, gaining hands-on experience in all things fundraising events, from planning to delivery and everything in between.

We’re so grateful for his enthusiasm, dedication, and the positive energy he brought to every project. Wishing him all the very best as he takes the next step in his journey.

An evening of colour, connection and purpose.

We’re so proud to introduce Lauren Kennedy as she hosts her Sip and Paint fundraising event for Variety – the Children’s Charity WA on the 27th of August.
As a Miss World Australia National Finalist, Lauren is using her platform to make a meaningful difference for WA children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability. Every brushstroke and ticket helps empower children to live, laugh and learn through Variety’s life-changing programs.
Paint us happy that we’re part of this and wish Lauren success with this beautiful event and can’t wait to see the community get together with her for a great cause.
