Mitchelton parkrun is a FREE weekly timed 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 7am in Teralba Park, Mitchelton in Brisbane, Australia. parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5k timed run and it can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. It offers an opportunity for all the local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the beautiful surrounds and get physically active at the same time. We want to encourage people to jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE!

Parkrun with a reverse finish

Well done to all Parkrunners whose head did not explode with the forced changes to the course today. Despite everything 38 runners managed a PB so it didn’t not work for everyone.

Congratulations to Steve Anderson and Peter Kennedy who synchronised their 500th Parkruns, all having started their Parkrun adventure only one week apart, 12 years ago. Well done to everyone who achieved milestones this week.

Huge thanks to Luke for his painstaking efforts in measuring out the alternate course. By all accounts it was bang on 5k.

And thanks to all the volunteers for carrying out their work with such good cheer.

Photos are on their way.
