April meetings at Miranda Toastmasters.

April was quieter than normal at our meetings with members taking advantage of shorter weeks and holidays.

But we managed to mix things up on our meeting agendas, do things a little differently, and have fun. After all, change is as good as a holiday.

It wasn't all quiet during April, some notable things happened during the month:
- We welcomed 3 new members: Nadia, Scott and Harry
- Harry gave his first Toastmasters Icebreaker speech
- Scott was formally inducted as a member (Nadia and Harry will be inducted at upcoming meetings)
- Jill celebrated 10 years of Toastmasters membership
- Scott and Jill both completed level 1 of Presentation Mastery in Pathways
- And ... we forgot to take photos and so we've provided artist renderings instead

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, 12 May 2026. Come along and join us.

We hosted two contests tonight - (1) Tall Tales where contests gave speeches on ludicrous and unbelievable stories and (2) Master of the Toast where contests gave 2-3 minute toasts on the topic of their choosing.

Master of the Toast Contest

3rd Place: Richard
Notable mentions: Teresa, Daniel and Kathy

Tall Tales Contest
1st Most Ludicrous story: Pat
2nd Most Ludicrous story: Joe

Another great meeting with lots of laughs, thought provoking table topics and inspirational speeches, all going on while we each build on our public speaking skills.

We welcomed new visitor Maryna and return visitor Harry who won the award for the best Table Topic answer. Congrats Harry!

It's never too late to activate your New Year's Resolutions. Especially if you've resolved to improve your public speaking and presentation goals.

It's always a good time to begin. In fact, once you start, you may wish you'd started earlier.
