Founded in 1947 when a group of parents united to form an organisation that would give their children a better quality of life, Sylvanvale now supports more than 750 children and adults throughout the Sydney metropolitan area and the Blue Mountains to live and participate in the community, as they choose. What an incredible weekend for Patrick! 🦈

Patrick took to the field with the Score Sharks at the Grand Final, playing in front of a massive crowd of more than 47,000 people. It was a huge milestone for the team, and Patrick was right there in the heart of the action.

The Sharks went up against the undefeated Score Dragons and held their own right to the final bell, securing a thrilling 4-4 draw after a fantastic last-second try. Every single player showed incredible heart, teamwork and real passion.

We are so proud of Patrick for being part of this history-making game.
It was one of those special days where the energy, support and community spirit were truly electric.

A day in the life at Garden House is never boring.

Morning tea turns into laughs and art. This then turns into everyone jamming together to music. It’s the kind of day where connection feels easy and creativity shows up naturally. This fills the room with the energy of people enjoying each other’s company.

What makes Garden House special is the sense of belonging. Everyone is welcomed, included and encouraged to be themselves. It’s a place where the people we support feel involved and part of something meaningful.

We were delighted to attend the Annual Community Grants and Subsidies Presentation last week. We are thrilled to share that Sylvanvale has been awarded a grant by the Sutherland Shire Council

It was wonderful to connect with representatives from so many organisations that make such a valuable contribution to our local area. We are incredibly grateful for this generous support. This grant allows us to continue doing what we love most, which is empowering people with disability to live the lives they choose right here in the Shire.

Huge congratulations to Alex!

We are absolutely thrilled to share that Alex has recently earned his ‘Building Your Skills’ certificate from SGSCC, with a special focus on safety!

At Sylvanvale, we are passionate about empowering people to live full, independent lives and achieve their personal goals. Seeing Alex reach this fantastic milestone is a brilliant example of exactly that.

An EPIC showdown took place at Social Club this week…

Xavier and Ollie went head‑to‑head in an ultimate game of pool, complete with dramatic shots and lots of laughs from everyone watching.

Social Club is all about moments like this, a chance for the people we support to enjoy spaces in our community. It enables an environment where they can have fun, try new things and enjoy time together.

This week at Sylvanvale Activity Centre (S.A.C), Classics from the 80s filled the room and gave everyone a chance to express themselves in their own way.

Thanks to The Rhythm Village movement, rhythm and pure joy took over, creating a space where people felt free to be themselves and have fun together.

Creativity and expression are powerful ways of creating community, and it’s S.A.C’s mission to help foster an environment where the people we support feel seen and included.

Today we celebrated the educators who inspire curiosity, creativity and confidence in our children every single day. They create a safe, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported.
 
To say thank you, our team enjoyed relaxing massages and gift bags as a small gesture of appreciation for all the care and dedication they bring to our centre.
