HWU Administrator Charlie Donnelly has today confirmed that the administration of the union is coming to an end, certifying that the branch is functioning effectively and ready to be returned to democratic control.

The announcement comes as health workers across Victoria overwhelmingly endorsed their new Public Sector Enterprise Agreement, with 94% voting Yes.

After eighteen months of rebuilding, the HWU has returned to growth, restored its financial position, delivered major industrial wins, and is once again a strong campaigning and organising force for health workers.

🗳️ VOTING IS NOW OPEN - HWU recommends a YES vote

Our vote for the 2025–27 EBA is now open.

91.3% of HWU members have endorsed this offer which delivers real wins for healthcare workers, including:

🩷 12.5% over two and a half years - an average 5% annual pay rise
🩷 Backpay from 16 December 2025 no
🩷 $1500 pro-rata cash payment
🩷 $10,000 pay increase for PSAs - overall 16% wage increase
🩷 Increase in personal days without evidence from 3 to 5 days
🩷 Enforceable workload protections
🩷 Reproductive health leave, on top of existing personal leave entitlements
🩷 Classification reviews for admin, One Technician per Theatre, and minimum safe staffing levels for Security
