SDA Delegate Prachi joined young workers from across Australia in Canberra to celebrate our historic win on junior rates and discuss the issues that matter most to young people at work.

A big thank you to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for taking the time to listen and engage with young workers about improving wages, a fairer superannuation system and a better future for the next generation.

Our members' voices are being heard in Parliament, and we're proud of them for standing up for a fair go for all.

Today, SDA members stood beside the Hon. Amanda Rishworth, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations in Canberra, as she spoke about the recent FWC decision which delivered an above-inflation wage increase of 4.75% - something the SDA pushed hard to win.

We're proud of our outstanding Delegation and their commitment to advancing the pay and conditions of their fellow members in retail, warehousing, and fast food.

SDA members across Victoria sadly know customer abuse and violence all too well.

That’s why they’re campaigning to Ban Aggressive Customers with enforceable Workplace Protection Orders.

These laws have worked in other states to keep repeat offenders out. It’s time Victoria acted so we can finally Ban Aggressive Customers.

Our Delegate Tammy knows what a 4.75% wage increase means this year. It's more than just a number: it’s stability, breathing room, and it's being valued.

Well done to SDA Delegates who have recently completed their initial training 👏

These sessions build on the vital work Delegates do every day: supporting members, standing up on key issues, and driving campaigns for better pay, safer workplaces, and fairer conditions.

With stronger skills and a deeper understanding of their role, our Delegates continue to grow the strength of the SDA in their workplaces.

Retail and fast food workers are facing rising rates of abuse every day.

SDA members across Victoria, like Pina from Woolworths Oakleigh, are calling for real action to Ban Aggressive Customers and stop repeat offenders from returning to workplaces.

It’s time for the Allan Labor Government to legislate enforceable Workplace Protection Orders and keep our members safe.

Yesterday, SDA Delegate Kathy spoke in front of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Employment, Workplace Relations, Skills and Training on the inquiry into the National Employment Standards (NES).

Kathy spoke on caring for her elderly parents and how she has colleagues that would majorly benefit from reforms in the NES that would make caring responsibilities easier while retaining the scope to return to work.

Thank you Kathy for speaking on behalf of SDA members on these important topics.
