✨We are proud to celebrate Lyle’s completion of his Certificate II in Community Services traineeship. 🎓👏

Lyle’s journey with YouthWorX NT began in early 2024, when he joined us as a participant. After completing work experience later that year, he moved into a part-time Youth Facilitator role before commencing a Certificate II in Community Services traineeship as our Program Support Trainee. 🌱

With support and guidance from Jessica Porter at GTNT Group, Lyle has successfully completed his Certificate II and will now continue his studies towards a Certificate III in Community Services. 📚

This is exactly why we do what we do. At YouthWorX NT, we are passionate about supporting young people to build their skills, recognise their strengths and move into meaningful employment opportunities. 💙

In Lyle’s own words:

"I am so grateful for the amazing opportunity that has been given to me by YouthWorX NT in the form of my traineeship in Certificate II in Community Services and the learning and training opportunities that I have been given along the way. I am thankful and happy to be part of a team that cares about each other, I feel like I am going into a family environment that has people that truly care about my growth and development. I look forward to continuing my studies into a certificate III in community services and knowing that I have the constant support from my employer makes me want to keep doing the best I can and achieve more."

We are incredibly proud of our CareerStart Digital participants who recently graduated following months of hard work, learning and personal growth.

Each graduate faced challenges along the way, but they kept showing up, building their skills and growing in confidence. It was wonderful to hear them reflect on their journey and celebrate how far they have come.

Thank you to His Honour, The Administrator of the Northern Territory for joining us to recognise this important milestone, and to Jinson Anto Charls MLA and the Northern Territory Government for funding this fourth CareerStart Digital cohort.

The program began as a pilot, with Google.org funding the first 3 cohorts. The program has now supported it's fourth cohort of neurodivergent young Territorians to gain practical IT skills, workplace experience and clearer pathways into employment or further study.

Current funding for CareerStart Digital has now ended. We know there is strong demand for this type of tailored, practical support, and we would welcome the opportunity to continue delivering the program. Without further investment, however, we cannot offer another cohort. Please reach out to YouthWorX NT if you would like to discuss opportunities to support the continuation of this much-needed program.

Congratulations again to every graduate. We are proud of what you have achieved and excited to see where your skills take you next.

✨Young Leaders Academy at Woolworths Darwin City!

A big thank you to Matthew and Mel for hosting our Young Leaders Academy on a fantastic Woolworths workplace tour.

Our young people had the opportunity to explore the store, learn about the wide range of career opportunities available, and gain valuable insight into what it's like to work in a busy retail and bakery environment. Experiences like these help build confidence, broaden career horizons and connect young people with real world employment pathways. 🍪👩‍🍳

✨Kaitlyn is a loved participant here at YouthWorX NT and we are incredibly proud of all she has achieved through the EmployAbility Program.

It has been wonderful to see her confidence, skills and workplace connections grow through her work experience with the Department of Children and Families. Her dedication, positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges have now led to a traineeship with the Department.

Congratulations, Kaitlyn. 🤩 This opportunity is thoroughly deserved, and we are excited to see where this next step takes you. ☺️

Kaitlyn Howell’s NT Government journey started with a goal to gain experience and explore a career in government.

Through the EmployAbility Program and a week of work experience with the Department of Children and Families, Kaitlyn built new skills, confidence and workplace connections.

Her positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges quickly made an impact, with her supervisor Carl O’Connor, Director Legal Services, describing her as “fantastic assistance across the Department… always willing to have a go at new things and assist whatever the task.”

Kaitlyn’s journey continued as she successfully transitioned into a traineeship with the Department showing how Early Careers programs can create real opportunities and pathways into employment.

🩸 Rolling up their sleeves for a great cause!

Every couple of months, members of the YouthWorX NT team visit Australian Red Cross Lifeblood to donate blood. Last week, Michelle and Renee headed to the Casuarina Donor Centre, with Michelle making her fourth donation and Renee her second.

Well done, ladies! A small amount of time can make a life-saving difference. ❤️

✨A lovely initiative from our participants, who have taken responsibility for collecting the empty bottles and cans brought into YouthWorX NT and taking them to the recycling depot to claim the 10-cent refund.

They have decided to save the money towards a group outing to Kingpin. It is a simple idea, but a good one, showing teamwork, responsibility and goal setting in action.

We are very proud of them for taking the lead and turning recycling into something they can all enjoy. ♻️🎳
