Financial counselling delivered in prisons helps people address debt, reduce stress and build the skills needed for life after release.

Let’s not lose a program that is helping break the cycle of reoffending. Continued funding is needed now.

This Anti-Poverty Week (11–17 Oct), we’re standing with Territorians doing it tough.

In the NT, too many people are choosing between rent, power bills, food and transport – especially young people, families on low incomes, and those in remote communities. With 1 in 7 Australians now living in poverty and a critical shortage of affordable housing in the Territory, the pressure is real.

Poverty isn’t inevitable. It’s something we can all help change.
✅ Support local charities, food pantries and emergency relief services.
✅ Back campaigns for more social and affordable housing.
✅ Speak up for fair income support and cost-of-living relief for those most disadvantaged.

This week, we’re calling on our whole community – neighbours, workplaces, schools and local groups – to act to end poverty, starting here in the NT.

This Carers Week, we recognise and celebrate the incredible people across the Northern Territory who provide care, support and encouragement to family members, friends and loved ones.

Whether you’re caring for a child, parent, partner, family member or friend, your compassion and commitment make a lasting difference every day. 💙

To all NT carers: thank you for everything you do. You are valued, supported and not alone.

On Monday 5 October we were honoured to gather as a community of families to celebrate the reopening of our Nauiyu Nambiyu Childcare Centre following the devastating flooding and the long journey of recovery, repairs, and maintenance.

The occasion was made especially meaningful by Father Rodrigues, who blessed the building and prayed for the safety, wellbeing, and continued success of our childcare community. 🙏🏼

Families and community Elders came together to mark this important milestone, sharing a meal and celebrating the return of a place that holds such significance for our community.

After a challenging period of restoration and rebuilding, this reopening represents a new beginning filled with hope, strength, and renewed commitment.🌈💛
