Free information sessions for older people - stay safe, stay informed, stay connected!

Join us for friendly and informative sessions designed to support older residents in our community:

• Scam awareness - learn to spot scams and protect yourself Presented by Victoria Police
Date: Monday 16 March

• Understanding My Aged Care - Navigate My Aged Care, available services and how to access them
Date: Wednesday 15 April
Time: 10am to 11.30am

• Free and low-cost activities - Discover local activities, exercise programs and social groups near you

• Safety awareness for seniors - Learn personal and cyber safety tips presented by Victoria Police.

📍 Location: All sessions held at Coburg Civic Centre - 90 Bell Street, Coburg. This venue is wheelchair and mobility aid accessible.

We are looking for a Volunteer Community Support Worker (CSW) to support people in our local community with practical help and connection.

🕘 Flexible shifts: Monday to Friday, 9am–3pm
📍 Location: Coburg
✅ Requirements: Police Check + Working with Children Check (WWCC)

In this volunteer role, you may help with:
• crisis support and calm, practical problem-solving
• holistic check-ins
• information, referrals and advocacy
• Emergency Relief (fresh food/food parcels, vouchers or gift cards, transport or pharmacy help, and other financial assistance where relevant)
• practical help like form-filling and navigating services

Pre-Prep for Refugee and Asylum Seeker Families - Information Session.

The session will focus on Early Start Kindergarten and Pre-Prep for children aged 3 to 5 years. It is a collaborative initiative between the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) and the Department of Education.

The session includes a presentation and live Q&A, and will cover:
- Free kindergarten for all families, no citizenship or permanent residency required
- Additional funded hours available to children from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds through Early Start Kindergarten (age 3) and Pre-Prep (age 4)
- How to register and enrol your child

The Get Active Kids Voucher Program is open! Get in quick as applications for a voucher will close at 10am on 2 April or earlier if the budget allocation is fully exhausted.

Victorian families with a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card can apply for up to $200 to support their child’s sport and active recreation activities. Apply now at

Eligible children may receive up to $200 to cover the costs for membership and registration fees. Applications are now open.
