‼️PETITION CLOSES MONDAY NIGHT
We were overwhelmed by the support today when handing out petition flyers a Coburg Basketball Stadium!

Most were very aware of the danger, especially at the Outlook Rd + Murray Rd intersection where the most incidents have occurred.

Signatures are sitting at 1,311 this afternoon

We want safer walking & riding along Murray-Gaffney, including to Batman station and the Upfield Shared Path.

1️⃣,1️⃣1️⃣1️⃣ SIGNATURES AFTER COBURG HIGH BUMP
Thank you to Coburg High School for sharing the Safer Murray Road petition with the school community. This resulted in a bump of 150 signatures in just over one day!

⚠️Murray Road danger is of particular concern for families attending Coburg High, Newlands Primary and early years services including Barry Beckett, Newlands Pre-school, Coburg Children’s Centre and Lake Park Kinder.

These families have been the main SWARM volunteers letterboxing and distributing 5000 flyers - and counting!

Coburg High also shared a concerning snap shot of Murray Rd incidents experienced by students (pic 2)

Coburg High has an 86% sustainable travel rate in the afternoons - that is a LOT of vulnerable road users - many experiencing Murray Rd danger.

✅ One month,
✅ 1000 signatures,
✅ 5000 flyers letterboxed and distributed!

Yesterday (Friday) was the one month mark and our petition cracked 1000 signatures - and is already sitting at 1076 on Saturday morning!

WITH LESS THAN TWO WEEKS TO GO, 950 HAVE SIGNED FOR A SAFER MURRAY RD!

Safer Walking and Riding for Murray Rd volunteers are SWARMing local streets again this weekend letterboxing our petition flyers!

4000 leaflets have already been distributed and we are now on to the next 1000!

⚠️ Families with young children who are most motivated to help which indicates the level of concern they have about the risk Murray Rd danger poses to their young ones.

⚠️ We are already at over 900 signatures - another indicator of the level of concern.
