Player And Family Education Sessions - Thank You!
Nutrition and fuelling
A very big thank you to Brooke Mahoney, dietitian at Reload Physio Brunswick, for presenting a fantastic session to our members on nutrition and fuelling for young athletes!
The session was extremely informative, with plenty of great takeaways for players and families around healthy eating habits, supporting young athletes’ growth and development, and making sure players are adequately fuelled for training and competition.
We’re looking forward to hopefully working with Reload Physio Brunswick and Brooke in the future. In the meantime, you can book an appointment with Brooke, or one of the other clinicians, at Reload Physio here https://reload.physio

AFL pathways
A big thank you also to Erin Maclatchy for running a valuable session on AFL pathways and player development.
We were also very fortunate to have Coco Balmain (Brunswick JFC player and Calder Cannons player) and Avaa Hishongwa-Gibb (Brunswick JFC coach and Darebin Falcons VFLW player) join the group and share their experiences. Coco and Avaa provided insight into their football pathways, development and experiences along the way. It was generous of them both to give their time to the club and share their knowledge and experiences with our players and families.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to these really informative sessions for our players and families!

YJFL Junior Coach of the year 2026. Our very own Lachlan (Lachie) Sherry.

As coach of U12G he worked with our two young coaches (Bella and Olive) and has done incredible work with the team to develop culture and participation in a an age group where our players span 4 age groups. The kids and families were motivated and encouraged throughout the season, partly from the lollies and icy poles/tim tams used as Friday night training encouragement!

We are truly inspired and grateful for our leading coaches, and awesome girls program at BJFC. Erin MacLatchy 💚💜💚💜
