Currently, superannuation contributions for under-18 year old workers is only required when they work more than 30 hours in a week. For most, this means they’re missing out on super entirely.

Super should be paid on every dollar earned.

Dolly Parton was an extraordinary artist, songwriter, philanthropist and unionist. From her beginnings in rural Appalachia to becoming one of the world's most beloved entertainers, she never lost sight of working people and where she came from.

A proud union member for more than 58 years, Dolly consistently filed union contracts and ensured the people working alongside her received the benefits and protections of union membership.

Her legacy is woven into union culture. Her anthem 9 to 5 gave voice to generations of women workers facing low pay, discrimination, impossible expectations and a lack of respect at work. Decades later, its message of dignity, fairness and respect for workers still resonates.

Dolly understood a simple truth that unions fight for every day: working people deserve respect.

All survivors of sexual assault should be able to safely access counselling without fear of their offender ever eavesdropping in on the conversation — but a new study shows that the practice of defence lawyers subpoenaing the private medical records and notes of victim-survivors is shockingly common.

The trend has become so severe that in some states police are now warning victims of sexual abuse not to access any counselling services until the criminal trial is over, as there is no way for police to guarantee that their private counselling records will be protected. That may mean a wait of two to three years with no counselling at a time it is needed most.
