Following last year’s finalisation of the Timber Fibre Strategy — the long-term strategic plan for our industry — we have worked hard to see it adopted and implemented.
This week we welcomed a major milestone: the detail of $150 million in Industry Growth Grants, won late last year alongside $150 million in concessional finance through the National Reconstruction Fund — an initial $300 million investment in our industry through the Forestry Growth Fund.
As this week’s announcement makes clear, our industry is now officially at the centre of the Government’s Future Made in Australia agenda and its $47 billion Homes for Australia plan.
There’s much more to do, but the TFTU is just getting started.
