🐔 Ever thought about becoming a Poultry Judge?

The WA Poultry Association is currently seeking expressions of interest for Poultry Judge Training.

This is a fantastic opportunity for breeders, exhibitors and poultry enthusiasts who would like to expand their knowledge of breed standards, bird assessment and poultry showing. Interest from the poultry community will help determine future training opportunities.

Judges play an important role in preserving breed standards, supporting poultry shows and helping educate the next generation of poultry keepers.

If you’ve ever found yourself wondering what judges look for in the show ring, or would like to deepen your understanding of poultry breeds and exhibition standards, now is the perfect time to register your interest.

🐔 AUCTION TOMORROW! 🐔

The Albany & Districts Poultry Club Pencil Auction is on tomorrow, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone there! Whether you’re hunting for new flock additions, selling birds, or just coming for a browse, there’ll be plenty of poultry, plenty of friendly faces, and plenty of chicken chat 🐓✨

🐥 Bringing chickens home tomorrow? Here are a few beginner tips to help your new birds settle in smoothly:

✔️ Bring secure transport boxes or pet carriers
✔️ Have food and fresh water ready at home
✔️ Prepare a safe enclosure before you arrive
✔️ Quarantine new birds away from your existing flock for a period before introducing them
✔️ Expect some nervousness at first, moving house is a big day for chickens too!
✔️ Keep handling calm and gentle while they settle in

Even if you’re brand new to poultry, don’t stress, there’ll be plenty of experienced poultry keepers around happy to answer questions and help out.

Join us this Sunday 10th May for the Albany & Districts Poultry Club Pencil Auction, a relaxed and beginner friendly way to buy and sell poultry, meet fellow poultry enthusiasts, and see a fantastic variety of birds all in one place.

Members pen birds 8:00am to 9:00am
