Hi all
With some recent RCRA movement regarding 1/10 scale Oval Racing across Australia, I would love to know if there is any 1/10 scale tracks that are currently racing or, clubs that are thinking of building a 1/10 scale track around Australia.
With the increasing numbers of 1/10 oval cars around I know a lot are being allowed to race on some established 1/4 scale tracks which is fantastic, as I know it is hard work to get a dedicated club running these days.
Albany RC Car Club have been racing 1/10 scale oval for over 5yrs now with ever growing numbers across 4 classes that we run, and it definitely does not look like slowing down.
We run these cars on a dedicated 1/10 scale track and it is the most fun going around in circles you could ever have, it's cheap and affordable for anyone or an entire family to join in.
But with increasing interest, comes a lot of different ideas on what the rules should be at a national level. So, this leads to the big question!!!
If you are running 1/10 scale oval cars, what classes are you running and what rules have you adopted?
As a club we run the following to encourage numbers to increase and allow 1/10 oval to grow.
SCT Latemodels
Stock esc, stock 10.5t, open servo, open transmitter, open pin or block tyres, lexan LM body, open spur and pinion.
For club meetings we allow truck bodies for inclusion of numbers.
Sprintcars
Losi Sprints or Custom works.
Stock losi esc, stock 3300kv or stock esc, stock 13.5t for Custom Works, open transmitter, open servo, DE Sprint or block tyres, stock body and wings, open spur and pinion.
Traxxas Dirt Modified/Mud boss
Stock Traxxas esc, stock 3300kv or stock esc, stock 13.5t as a replacement due to not being able to import Traxxas gear, open transmitter, open servo, sct pin or block tyres, stock body, open spur and pinion.
Stock cars
AE SR10 or SR10-M
Stock AE esc, stock 3300kv or stock esc, stock 13.5t for the AE SR10-M, open transmitter, open servo, Losi sprint tyres, pins or block tyres, stock body and wings, open spur and pinion.
We will also look at including a wingless class in the future.
So before everyone gets over exited, this is to try and get a fluent and general consensus across the board on what everyone is running and needs to be an open and transparent discussion.
Please feel free to give us a rundown of your current classes and rules. I do believe with transparent input, the set of rules that are currently circulating for discussion can be written to accommodate a 1/10 scale section with rules that are reasonable.
If you have any questions outside of this post please don't hesitate to send a message. But otherwise tell us what you do in the comments π
