The water was freezing but the cause was worth it 🥶

Our team members Tamara and Corinne recently braved the chilly conditions and took part in the Daffodil Day Dip, helping raise funds for Australians affected by cancer and supporting life-saving research 💛

We're not sure what was stronger, their commitment to a good cause or their tolerance for cold water!

Well done to our fearless dippers for taking the plunge for a cancer-free future. We're very proud to have team members who are always willing to step outside their comfort zone to support their community and causes that matter.

$14,100 raised for people experiencing homelessness🚨

Last week, Tamara and Dave took part in the Shelter Together Homelessness Fundraiser through Albany Community Foundation and Community Bank Albany, braving a cold, wet and windy night sleeping in their cars to raise awareness of homelessness and support people doing it tough in our community ❄️🧡

We're happy to report they survived, but neither is rushing to swap their bed for a car again anytime soon. Dave tackled the night in his signature p**p emoji Oodie, adding a little humour to an otherwise chilly and uncomfortable experience💩
While it was only one night for them, it was a strong reminder that for many people experiencing homelessness, uncertainty, discomfort and lack of safe shelter are a daily reality.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, shared and got behind the fundraiser. Thanks to your incredible generosity Tamara and Dave raised an amazing $7,050, which will be matched to reach $14,100, leading Team Anglicare to be crowned Team Fundraising Champions!🤩🎉

Every dollar raised will help support people experiencing homelessness, making those sore backs and cramped legs well and truly worth it 🧡

For many West Australians, poverty and homelessness are just a few unexpected setbacks away...

With housing being unaffordable and everyday costs continuing to climb, more people are being forced into housing insecurity and homelessness. Behind the statistics are families, young people and older Australians facing incredibly difficult circumstances, often through no fault of their own.

We believe that everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home. This , we recognise the strength and resilience of those experiencing homelessness while raising awareness of the challenges they face every day.

At Anglicare WA, we're here to walk alongside people when they need support most. Through our services, we help people access safe accommodation, navigate complex systems and take steps towards a more secure future.

Everyone deserves the dignity, safety and sense of belonging that comes with having a place to call home. Learn more about our housing and homelessness services here - www.anglicarewa.org.au/get-support/adult-housing-and-homelessness

Thank you to Shire of Katanning and Southern Aboriginal Corporation for working with us to put on this event.

Stockings are fun to open, but not as fun to stuff with how expensive it can get. Start grabbing the little stuff now when you have a few extra dollars and pop it away for December! 🧑‍🎄
You could also start buying small gift cards for the extra food and or presents, so you know there’s money set aside.

The WA Government has delivered on its $11.5 million commitment to expand the Safe at Home program to eight new locations across WA, including the Great Southern, where Anglicare WA will help more victim-survivors remain safe in their own homes, or a home of their choice.

Funding has also been extended for our Albany-based Men’s Behaviour Change Program, delivered in partnership with Kadadjiny Aboriginal Corporation.

These investments are part of the Cook WA Labor Government’s commitment to supporting victim-survivors while also addressing drivers of family and domestic violence through early intervention and behaviour change. We’re glad that we can play a role in strengthening support for individuals, families and communities throughout the state who are impacted by FDV.

📢AusAlert Test Alert - Monday 27 July, 12pm AWST📢

The Australian Government's new AusAlert system is being tested on Monday 27 July at 12pm AWST. AusAlert will be used to warn Australians of disasters such as bushfires, severe weather and public health emergencies.

As part of the test, a loud alert will be sent to mobile phones and other compatible smart devices across Australia. Turning the device to Silent or Do Not Disturb will not stop the alert. If you need to disable it for your safety, information on how to do so is on slide 3.
