🔥 Game Recap – Jason vs Nate 🔥

Jason – Blood Angels (Rage Cursed Onslaught)
Nate – Adeptus Sororitas (Bringer of Flame)

Final Score: Nate 73 – Jason 72

A razor-close game that came down to the final objective moves.

Jason applied relentless pressure throughout the match, aggressively targeting Nate’s scoring and shooting elements while the Blood Angels pushed hard into the midfield. By the end of Round 4, the Sororitas force was nearly tabled, with only a handful of units left standing.

But the mission still had to be played.

To maintain scoring and complete actions, Jason was forced to commit key units like the Death Company and Sanguinary Guard away from pure combat duties. That opened the door for Nate’s remaining Sororitas units to slip onto objectives and claw back crucial points late in the game.

Despite heavy losses, the Sisters held on just long enough to edge ahead in the final scoring, taking the win by a single point.

A brutal game of aggression vs late-game objective play — decided right at the end. 💥

🎨 Warhammer 40,000 Painting Competition Spotlight 🎨

Shoutout to Morgan Brenzi for this excellent entry featuring Konrad Curze, Primarch of the Night Lords.

A moody, atmospheric paint job that captures the grim presence of the Night Haunter — strong tone, great character, and great narrative feel.

Great work, Morgan — a standout entry in the competition so far.

⚔️ Warhammer 40,000 11th Edition Battle Report ⚔️

Another great game of 11th Edition this week as Stan’s Leagues of Votann Mercenary Oathband faced off against Doc’s Leagues of Votann Hearthband.

Stan drew the Take Hold force disposition with the Determined Takeover primary mission, while Doc took Disruption with Death Trap. The new mission system continues to create very different games, with both players approaching the battlefield from completely different angles.

One of the biggest takeaways was how different terrain and objectives feel in 11th Edition. Objectives are easier to attack, harder to defend, and the new Secondary Mission deck adds plenty of variety and tactical decision-making.

Doc deployed aggressively, pushing Hearthguard forward to threaten Stan’s expansion objective early. Stan responded hard, wiping out four of Doc’s units on that flank, but the commitment created an opening elsewhere.

The following turn, Doc’s Hearthguard struck back and cleared much of Stan’s presence from that side of the board. At the same time, Hernkyn Pioneer bikers, Brokhyr Thunderkyn with graviton weapons, and a Hekaton Land Fortress secured the opposite flank and began collapsing towards the centre.

With both armies initially concentrated around the middle, Stan was forced to choose where to commit his response. While one flank was contained, pressure from the other side steadily built and eventually rolled into the centre objectives.

By turn three, the game had become a brutal close-range fight in the middle of the board. Several key charges looked set to decide the battle, but the momentum had shifted too far and Stan was unable to recover.

A fantastic game and another great example of how dynamic 11th Edition can be. The new force dispositions, primary missions and secondary objectives are already creating memorable battles and tough tactical decisions from deployment to the final turn.

🔥 League Game Recap – Jason vs Doc 🔥

Mission B: Supply Drop
Deployment: Crucible of Battle
Terrain: GW Layout 1

Jason – Blood Angels (Rage Curse Onslaught)
Doc – Astra Militarum (Grizzled Company)

Doc won first turn and immediately flooded the midfield, stacking multiple units onto every objective with infantry and Chimeras. Jason was forced to commit early, using shooting and charges from the Death Company to flip objectives and deny the Guard primary scoring for Turn 2.

That opened the door for Doc’s counterattack. Three Scion squads dropped in with re-rolls to wound and re-rolling 1s to hit, wiping both large Death Company squads and key support characters. The Guard then reinforced the midfield with even more bodies.

Jason attempted to swing momentum back with Dante and Sanguinary Guard rapid ingressing into the Rogal Dorn, but failed to bring it down. The Dorn then fired directly into combat, killing Dante and finishing the squad.

Turns 4 and 5 played quickly, with the Guard continuing to dominate the midfield and steadily score primary points as the Blood Angels ran out of resources.

A strong example of Astra Militarum board control and counterpunching against aggressive melee pressure. 💥

🐺 Warhammer 40K League – Season 1 2026 Wrap-Up

Season 1 of the 2026 Warhammer 40K League is complete! A season full of brutal clashes, tight objective battles, and the occasional absolutely cursed dice roll.

This season featured strong faction variety, evolving lists, and improving play across the board — but one force ultimately rose above the rest.

🥇 Champion: Jack – Space Wolves

Jack takes out Season 1, finishing first with his Space Wolves after a consistent and dominant campaign. Relentless pressure, strong board control, and solid mission play carried him to the top of the standings. Congratulations to a player who continues to improve!!

A big thanks to all players involved - we will be celebrating the champion at our next event.

Season 2 starts July — get in contact for info.
