⚔️ 40K League Battle Report

Aaron took Astra Militarum – Combined Arms + Designated Force against Doc’s Combined Arms + Abhuman Auxiliaries in Take and Hold on Dawn of War.

Aaron brought a very infantry-heavy list and pushed hard from turn one, getting onto objectives early and picking up some secondaries.

Doc went for the classic Guard pincer, with Kasrkin holding one flank while the Leman Russes and Hellhounds provided covering fire in turns 2 and 3, chewing through waves of infantry. The pincer eventually broke through the lines, while the Bullgryn kept pushing up the middle.

Some great moments from both sides, including a single Cadian Recon Trooper somehow surviving a whole squad of Bullgryn and stopping them from advancing!

Really fun teaching game with Aaron learning more about the Guard mechanics. He’s already loving the lore and has plenty of new units to experiment with. Definitely one to watch!

Final Score: Doc 100 – Aaron 28 🎲

🎲 BIG CHANGES COMING IN 2027 🎲

Next year we’re making our events bigger, more regular and more open to everyone.

We’re moving from bimonthly to monthly events, with a new home at:

📍 Manley Hall – Lions
331 Ulster Road, Collingwood Heights

We’ll be hiring the hall for the whole weekend, giving everyone more time to play, meet people and just hang out.

40K will still be part of what we do, but we want to make plenty of room for all sorts of games and gamers. Whether you’re into 40K, another system, completely new to the hobby, or just looking for a friendly group to play with — you’re welcome.

The goal is simple: more gaming, more people, and a welcoming community where everyone can come along, have a game and meet some good people.

Come along, bring a mate, bring a game, and throw some dice with us. 🎲❤️

2027 is going to be a big one!

⚔️ BATTLE REPORT — Aaron vs Cody ⚔️

🪖 Aaron — Astra Militarum
👑 Cody — Adeptus Custodes

Mission: Priority Assets (Secure Assets) vs Take and Hold (Inescapable Dominion)

The Cadian 8th Regiment, 5th Company, supported by a Salamanders Kill Team led by Veteran Sergeant Vaa’lyn, were ordered to secure an asset of ”…great importance to the Mechanicum.”

On arrival, the Custodes issued a simple Vox-Net warning: withdraw, or be purged under the Emperor’s will.

The Cadians held their ground.

ROUND 1
The Custodes opened fire with their Grav-Tank, scratching the Rogal Dorn. The Dorn and Leman Russ Exterminator answered with overwhelming firepower, destroying the Grav-Tank.

ROUND 2
A Blade Champion and Custodes unit charged and destroyed the Rogal Dorn. The Cadian platoons then converged on the Custodes.

The Guard unleashed 51 lasgun hits…

For ONE wound. 😂

The Cadians and Leman Russ charged, eventually reducing the Custodes unit to just the Blade Champion.

ROUND 3
The Salamanders continued securing the asset before a second Custodes force, led by a Shield-Captain, attacked. Half the Kill Team fell immediately.

After further fire from the second Grav-Tank, only Veteran Sergeant Vaa’lyn remained. Gravely wounded, he escaped behind cover with his Hellfire Extremis, preparing for a final stand.

ROUND 4
The Blue Halo Tempestus Aquilons deep struck behind the Custodes lines, hitting the Witchseekers before suffering heavy return fire. A Callidus Assassin then struck, but a second Aquilon section arrived and brought her down.

Meanwhile, the Salamanders were finally wiped out and the central Cadian platoon was surrounded. Custodes Terminators appeared in the Guard’s backfield.

ROUND 5
With the battlefield now dominated by the Custodes, the remaining Cadians attempted to withdraw while the Aquilons moved to provide covering fire.

They never made it.

The remaining Guard were finally overwhelmed.

🏆 FINAL SCORE

🪖 Astra Militarum — 76 VP
👑 Adeptus Custodes — 93 VP

Cody takes the win!

An absolute cracker of a game, with some memorable moments — especially 51 lasgun hits for ONE wound 😂

Jack vs. Jac — League Battle Report
Space Wolves 100 – Orks 28
Howling took first turn, with Arjac and the Terminators dropping onto the right flank. Their charge failed, but some Ork shooting triggered a 4" move that pulled them out of Ghazghkull’s charge and buff range. The Redemptor then tied Ghaz up for 2 rounds, keeping him away from the main battle.
Ragnar and the Blood Claws carved up the left flank while Arjac’s Terminators weathered the Nobz before counter-charging and destroying one unit. The Repulsor Executioner spent the game working the backfield, destroying transports, mowing down Orks, and eventually returning home to remove a late deep-strike threat.
Ghaz finally broke free and reached the Blood Claws, but they survived long enough for Bjorn to arrive and finish him off.
With the Wolves controlling the battlefield, Space wolves scored a perfect 100 points — 100–28. 🐺
