What a fantastic day we had on Monday as part of our school holiday program with the young people from Mt Barker!

It was an incredible day full of laughter, connection, and culture, with everyone getting involved and making the most of the time together. The energy from the young people was deadly, and it was beautiful to see them connecting, having fun, and supporting one another.

A huge thank you to the Elders who came along and supported the day, your presence, guidance, and strength are what make these moments so meaningful. ❤️💛🖤

We’re so proud to be able to create these spaces for our young people. Truly an amazing day had by all!

Gorenang Moortabiin has had the privilege to be a part of the Western Australian Museum’s Emerging Curator Program.
The last two days we had an incredible time participating in Oral Recording Training alongside the Binalup Yorkas Woman Rangers, Wagyl Kaip and UWA.
Wonderful to share a strong cultural space full of strength, laughter, learning and unity.

Artist Snapshot – What We Are Seeking!!

We are seeking culturally competent visual artists with experience working respectfully with Aboriginal communities to deliver creative, skills-based and wellbeing-focused arts activities.

The artists will be engaged to deliver a mix of visual arts and applied creative workshops, which may include painting, mixed media, textile arts, and sewing-based workshops, tailored to community interests, cultural context, and local capacity.

Delivery will occur across multiple regional locations and may include on-Country, community centre, and studio-based settings.

If you are interested, please email: [email protected] for more information.

This is a great opportunity for collaboration, developing networks and cross cultural skills development.

Baranga Maditjil – Totem Magic artists now have a dedicated studio space at the Vancouver Arts Centre.

This gives our Noongar artists a consistent, professional base to work from in the centre of Albany’s arts precinct. It’s a practical step forward — creating room for focused studio time, skills development, collaboration, and preparation for exhibitions and markets.

Through Gorenang Moortabiin Aboriginal Corporation, we work alongside our artists to:

• Build sustainable arts practice
• Strengthen pricing and professional standards
• Prepare work for exhibition and sale
• Connect into regional and state arts networks
• Support cultural integrity in creative production

Having a presence at the Vancouver Arts Centre increases visibility and creates stronger pathways between grassroots Aboriginal artists and the broader arts sector.

This is about infrastructure.
It’s about opportunity.
And it’s about backing our artists properly.

Drop in or message us and see how you can be part of this exciting opportunity ❤️💛🖤

Yesterday we came together in a powerful way for a su***de prevention yarn led by the Moorillurup Ladies Healing Group 💛
It was a space of honesty, strength, and deep listening, exactly what our community needs.

A huge shoutout and heartfelt thanks to Flynn and Jacob from The Hard Road for their incredible courage in sharing their journeys. Your truth, vulnerability and strength made a real impact, and your stories will stay with many of us for a long time. It takes bravery to speak openly, and your voices matter more than words can say.

Thank you also to every community member who showed up, sat in the circle, and shared openly. Your willingness to listen, yarn, and support one another is what creates safety, connection, and hope.

Healing happens when we come together.
Conversations save lives.
No one has to walk alone. 🤍

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out — help is always there.

During the recent school holidays Gorenang Moortabiin® delivered a number of Youth and Community days.
Here we worked with the Moorilurrup Ladies Healing Group in Mt Barker, where Elders joined young people for a sausage sizzle, fishing and a ride on the Kalgan Queen.
Everyone had an amazing day 🖤💛❤️
