When it rains in Gaza, a family without a shelter has nowhere to go.

Thousands of families in Gaza lost their homes. Many now sleep in overcrowded shelters or in places that aren’t safe, and with winter coming, the rain finds its way through whatever is above them.

Wings of Mercy is handing out tents to these families. A tent keeps out the rain and the cold, and it gives a mother, a father and their children a place to sleep under the same roof again.

Winter is close. Every tent you fund is one more family sleeping dry and together.

🇵🇸 From South Africa to Gaza: food, delivered by hand

A man in a cap double-knots a blue plastic bag before handing it to a girl standing at her tent door in her pajamas. Two younger kids peek out behind her, already knowing their turn is next. Inside the bag: cooking oil, rice, flour, tinned tuna, sugar. The basics for the next stretch of meals.

That’s one tent. Our team visited dozens more this month across the camps in Gaza. Knock, hand over the bag, move to the next tent.

Every parcel started in a warehouse stacked floor to ceiling with oil and tuna cans, packed by hand by volunteers before being loaded onto trucks and driven into the camps, funded entirely by donors here in South Africa who will never meet the families receiving them.

For a family that lost their home and their income, a bag like this means one less thing to worry about for a few days. That’s what your donation buys. Not headlines. Food on a table that didn’t have any this morning.

Alhamdulillah Your Qurbani Has Reached Gaza. 🤲

What began with your generous sacrifice during Eid Al-Adha has now reached families inside Gaza.

Through the trust and support of our donors, Wings of Mercy Foundation completed the Qurbani process in Egypt, where the meat was carefully prepared and canned before awaiting the necessary border procedures.

Today, we are grateful to share that the Qurbani meat has reached Gaza and has been distributed to vulnerable families, including displaced people, children, widows, and elderly residents facing severe food insecurity.

For families living through displacement and hardship, these cans represent more than food. They represent relief, dignity, and the reassurance that they have not been forgotten.

She held the card and looked straight at the camera. 🤍

She stood against the metal frame of her tent, in a yellow-green T-shirt with a small black flower pinned to the collar. One hand held the card our team had just given her. She kept her eyes on us the whole time.

She is an orphan, like every child our team visited: a teenage boy in a green shirt, a girl in a white hijab, a toddler in a red T-shirt who held his card up like a toy. Each one was handed financial assistance in person, tent by tent.

It won't replace what these children have lost. But it reached them directly, and it told them that someone far away had thought of them.

She kept the bag on her lap the whole time.

Our team knocked on Sarah's tent, and she came out holding a pillow, like she'd been sitting on her bed. When they handed her the backpack, purple with a raccoon on the front, she didn't put it down. She held it up in both hands so we could see it properly, and looked straight at the camera. Not smiling exactly. Just steady.

That's what a school year starting again looks like for a child in Gaza right now: not a classroom yet, just a bag, delivered by hand, to a tent that's currently home.

Wings of Mercy has been going door to door across the camps with backpacks, notebooks, and pencils for children starting the new school year. Small deliveries. But for a family with nothing else new to give their kids this year, it's something.

Fresh vegetables for families in Gaza 🇵🇸

Tomatoes, cucumbers, apples, peppers, eggplants, potatoes. Food that used to be ordinary, now priced far beyond what a family living in a tent can afford.

Wings of Mercy packed these into parcels and delivered them by hand to displaced families across Gaza, starting with the camps and communities that needed them most.

A small thing. But for a family with an empty pot, it means dinner tonight.

The Musallah in Dair Al-Balah, Gaza

When Yafa Masjid was destroyed in the war, the families of Dair Al-Balah lost the place where they prayed.

In late 2024, Wings of Mercy opened a Musallah to take its place. Alhamdulillah, it is now one of the main prayer spaces in the area.

We have since cleared the rubble from the building next door and expanded the Musallah. The new space hosts Qur'an memorisation sessions for children and adults from the community.

These sessions need funding to keep running and to grow. Your Lillah donation keeps the Musallah open and the classes going.

Our team in Gaza packed the produce into parcels, loaded them into a truck, and delivered them by hand — tent by tent, starting with the camps where the need was greatest. One of the bags went to a boy who carried it home on his own.

Frozen meat distribution in Gaza 🇵🇸

Wings of Mercy Foundation distributed frozen meat to displaced families in Gaza, where food shortages have made meat almost impossible to get.

Most of these families live in tents, with no fridge and no steady electricity to keep anything cold. So we cut and packed the meat in portions meant to be cooked the same day, and our team carried it to the tents by hand.

Thousands of families received a share.
