Western Cape Caregivers Continue to Celebrate their CST journey
It has been a few weeks since the celebration day in Bellville, WC, and caregivers are still proudly reflecting on their achievement. Elfreda Baartman, the WC Regional Officer for Autism South Africa, continues to receive messages from caregivers sharing exciting stories of their children's progress as they apply strategies learned during the training.
On 29 July 2026,a group of caregivers of children with developmental delays celebrated the completion of the 9 weeks World Health Organization's (WHO) Caregiver Skills Training(CST) Programme.
Caregivers gained practical skills and valuable knowledge to support their children in everyday routines. They learned strategies to improve parent-child engagement, enhance communication, teach children new skills and care for their own well being.
The impact continues beyond the classroom. Caregivers are reporting positive changes in their children s development and are feeling more confident in their abilities in their children's growth and learning.
Sincere gratitude to:
All the caregivers,
