A programme cannot run itself.

Every workshop, support group, training session, advocacy campaign, and resource is made possible by people.

Yet one of the biggest struggles NPOs face is securing funding for salaries. Funders often support programme costs, but the people who deliver those programmes also need to earn a living.

At Autism SA, we love what we do. We believe in the work. But passion alone doesn't pay salaries.

Please consider supporting our team so that we can continue supporting autistic people and their families across South Africa.

Every contribution helps keep our doors open and our services running.

☕ Your coffee break can wait. An autistic person's future can't.

This Mandela Day, we're challenging South Africans to do something simple:

Skip one coffee.
Donate R67.

The price of a cappuccino, a muffin, or a quick treat could become something far more powerful — advocacy, awareness, support, and opportunities for autistic people across South Africa.

Nelson Mandela taught us that each of us has the power to make a difference.

You don't need to change the world today.

Just change where your R67 goes.

☕ Skip the coffee.
Donate R67.
🌍 Help build a more inclusive South Africa.

Because every cup you don't drink can help someone else be seen, heard, and included.

☕ OR ❤️?

Today, your R67 can buy a coffee and parking.

Or it can help Autism South Africa continue fighting for a world where autistic people are understood, included, respected, and supported.

This Nelson Mandela Day, we're asking you to make one small sacrifice with a big impact:

Skip your coffee.
Donate R67.

Because every cup you give up can help create opportunities, awareness, advocacy, and support for autistic people and their families.

One cup. One donation. One step towards a more inclusive South Africa.

Make your R67 matter.

Autism SA's Elfreda Baartman had the pleasure of spending time with Lift Airlines this week, providing a brief introduction to autism and discussing ways to create more inclusive travel experiences.

A sincere thank you to Lift Airlines for your openness, willingness to learn, and commitment to making air travel more accessible and welcoming for autistic people and their families. Inclusion starts with understanding, and we are encouraged by your proactive approach.

We hope to see many more happy autistic travellers taking to the skies with confidence and support. More importantly, we hope this is just the beginning of a journey towards making all spaces more inclusive, accessible, and welcoming for everyone.

Together, we can help create a world where autistic people are not only accommodated but truly belong.

☕ What did your coffee cost today?

A cappuccino costs around R55. Add parking, and you're at R67.

This Nelson Mandela Day, skip just ONE coffee and change a life instead.

Donate R67 to Autism South Africa and help us advocate for the rights, inclusion, support, and dignity of autistic people across South Africa.

One coffee. One act of kindness. One meaningful difference.

Nelson Mandela believed that what counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived, but what difference we have made to the lives of others.

This Mandela Day, make your cup count.

Give up your coffee. Give R67. Give hope.

Today we celebrate a very special achievement! 🎓✨

Congratulations to Gloria Gkikas, our incredible counsellor at Autism South Africa, on obtaining her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Intervention, at the University of Pretoria. We are incredibly proud of this remarkable accomplishment and the dedication, compassion, and hard work that made it possible.

Gloria is not only a tremendous asset to Autism South Africa, but also a true blessing to the many, many families of autistic children whose lives she touches through her support, care, and advocacy. Her commitment to making a meaningful difference shines through in everything she does.

Well done, Gloria — your Autism SA family celebrates with you today!

📢 Autism Research Priorities Study – Your Voice Matters

We’re excited to share that our Autism Research Priorities Study is now live!

We are calling on autistic people of all ages and abilities to take part and tell us what you would like to see in future autism research. Your lived experience is essential in shaping research that is meaningful, relevant, and impactful.

We invite professionals who work with autistic individuals to contribute their perspectives as well.

By participating, you’ll help ensure that future research reflects the real needs and priorities of the autism community.

👉 Please take a few minutes to have your say and share this widely within your networks.

Together, we can shape a more inclusive and responsive research agenda.

🚨 Public Notice: Clarification from Autism South Africa 🚨

It has come to our attention that a statement is currently being circulated claiming:
"I have an arrangement now with Autism South Africa - where they are helping me to find new schools all over South Africa where you can do your practical experience."

Autism South Africa would like to make it clear that we do not have any Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), partnership, or formal arrangement with this individual.

We take our role as a national advocacy organisation seriously, and we are committed to transparency and ethical engagement. Any official partnerships or collaborations are formally communicated through our verified channels.

We urge members of the public, students, and professionals to exercise caution and to verify information directly with us before acting on such claims.

If you have any questions or would like to confirm legitimate collaborations, please contact us directly.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
