NCPD, in collaboration with the Cordis Trust, is currently putting together an anthology titled IN SPITE OF …, and we are inviting submissions of original creative work.
We are making a final push for more creative writing – particularly poetry, prose and short stories. We would especially love to receive work in South African languages other than Afrikaans and English, although Afrikaans and English submissions are very welcome too.
The anthology is open to persons with disabilities, persons who are involved in the lives of persons with disabilities, and anyone else who would like to contribute.
The theme is IN SPITE OF … and submissions may be made in any of South Africa’s official languages.
A few important requirements:
Poems should not exceed 30 lines.Prose and short stories should not exceed 1 500 words.The work must be the contributor’s own original work.AI may not be used in the creation of the submitted work. This is a strict requirement.Creative writing should be submitted as a Word document.Please include the contributor’s name, surname, contact details and a short description of themselves of no more than 120 words.
The final closing date is 15 October 2026.
