Starfish Snapshot 🧡 Meet Emelia

Little ones need encouragement as they learn and grow, and the people caring for them deserve to feel supported, too.

Emelia is a teacher assistant at a Starfish-supported preschool. Her monthly stipend helps cover her basic needs, easing the worry of making ends meet and giving her room to breathe.

She shares that this support has restored her confidence and helped her move from simply getting by to living with dignity and stability. Knowing she is valued has meant so much.

This month, as we celebrate our educators, we want to say: Thank you, Emelia, for the care and encouragement you give our youngest learners. We appreciate you!

The handwashing celebrations continued at Diepsloot Primary School! 🎉
Starfish Greathearts Foundation, together with Dettol and Clicks, joined learners and teachers to celebrate Handwashing Week through fun and educational hygiene awareness activities.
Our team taught learners the importance of proper handwashing, distributed soap and shared hygiene educational books with learners and teachers to encourage healthy habits beyond the classroom. 📚🧼
Because a simple act like washing our hands with soap can help protect our health and create a healthier future for our children! 🌍✨

Living in a two-room shack, finding space for homework, and feeding everyone is a daily challenge.

But Karabo has someone beside her. Careworker Palesa provides mentorship, food parcels, a daily hot meal, a school uniform, and homework supervision. With this support, Karabo’s schoolwork has improved. 💛
