4 Questions. 1 Developer’s Journey. | Part 2 💻

Meet Enny Motshweni, one of our 2026 Web Development trainees.

We asked her the same four questions we asked Tefo: What did she think web development was before iHub? What is she learning now? What’s been challenging? And where does she see herself going?

Her answers are her own — but they’re part of a bigger picture of what learning to become a developer at iHub can look like.

🎥 Watch Part 2 and hear Enny’s answers.

FROM THE CLASSROOM TO THE CLOUD ☁️ | AWS SUMMIT 2026

What does learning web development look like beyond the classroom?

For our Web Development trainees, part of the answer is getting into spaces where the technology industry is actually happening.

At the AWS Summit, our trainees had the opportunity to engage with developers and industry professionals, explore new technologies, ask questions, and see how the skills they are building connect to the wider tech ecosystem.

That kind of exposure matters. Becoming work-ready is not only about completing training. It also means learning how to engage with the industry, understand where your skills fit, and keep learning beyond the classroom.

🎥 We’ll share more in our upcoming Reel, where our trainees reflect on what they learned, what stood out, and what they’re taking back with them.

Before joining iHub Africa, what did Tefo think web development was?

Now, as one of our 2026 Web Development trainees, he’s learning what it actually takes to become a developer — including the parts that don’t always come easily.

We gave Tefo four simple sentences to finish about his journey: what he thought before iHub, what he’s learning now, what he finds challenging, and where he hopes this path will take him.

🎥 Watch the Reel to hear his answers.

From feeling stuck to seeing new possibilities.

This Women’s Month, we’re spotlighting Kamogelo Mokakale an iHub Africa Digital Marketing graduate.

Before iHub, she wasn’t sure what her next step would look like. Through the programme, she developed practical digital marketing skills while also becoming more confident in communicating, working with others and taking on new challenges.

For her, the experience was a reminder that your first step doesn’t have to define your whole career.

Her advice to other young women is simple: keep learning, trust your ability to grow, and be willing to start somewhere.

Swipe through to hear more about her journey. ➡️

💬 What’s one skill you’re working on right now?

A certificate shows that you completed a course.

It doesn't, by itself, show what you can do.

If you're building digital skills, don't stop at completing a course. Choose a direction, practise what you learn, build something, and find a way to demonstrate it.

One free resource worth exploring is Microsoft Learn, with self-paced learning across areas including AI, data, development, cybersecurity and cloud.

🌸 Today, we celebrate the women who keep learning, keep showing up, and keep creating opportunities for themselves and those around them.

At iHub Africa, we've seen firsthand what happens when women have access to practical skills, the confidence to apply them, and the support to keep growing. They build careers, contribute to their communities, and open doors for others to follow.

To every woman pursuing her goals, leading with purpose, supporting others, and choosing growth every day, we celebrate you.

Happy Women's Day.

Leadership isn't only about having a title. It's also about listening, asking questions and taking initiative.

A few moments from our Peer Leadership & Initiative Masterclass at iHub Africa, where trainees explored what it means to lead from where they are.

Learn. Listen. Take initiative. Lead. 💙

💙 Every iHub graduate has a story, and behind every story is someone who kept believing in them.

To the parents, guardians, siblings, mentors, friends, and loved ones, thank you.

Thank you for the early mornings, the lifts to class, the words of encouragement, the patience, the prayers, and the reminders to keep going when the programme felt challenging.

Graduation celebrates the achievement of our students, but it also reflects the people who stood beside them through the journey.

Your support made it possible for them to stay committed, keep learning, and reach this milestone.

Today, we celebrate you too.

Swipe through these moments and join us in thanking the incredible support systems behind the Class of 2026.
