Holding Hope in Their Hands
MAF's Local Bible Fund, Depleted.

This message serves a little closer to home. 🇿🇦

While Bible organisations faithfully translate and provide God’s Word, MAF carries it the hardest mile - flying across mountains, floodplains and remote landscapes to communities no delivery truck is going to reach.

This time, we have an opportunity to serve closer to home. Through our monthly Flying for Life eye-doctor flights, you can help bring not only the practical expression of God’s love through life-changing medical care, but also the lasting hope and encouragement found in His Word.

People in rural communities of South Africa are often forgotten when it comes to receiving care. We are humbled to witness their resilience and determined to bless them with the life-changing news of the Gospel. Help us provide Bibles to each of our patients, sending them home with tangible HOPE.

There is little access to Vernacular Bibles in the rural areas of South Africa.

Together, we can place a Bible into the hands of someone who has been waiting and praying for one.

Last week the Ugandan Health minister declared Uganda Ebola free! We are praising God and rejoicing in this wonderful news.

🙏 We continue to pray for the Democratic Republic of Congo that the disease would be contained, and that all those suffering would be made well in the name of Jesus.

Soccer and bush pilot heroes. Congratulations to Bafana Bafana on yesterday’s brilliant 1-0 victory over South Korea at the FIFA World Cup - advancing out of the group stage for the first time in our history. South Africa, we are cheering for you! 🇿🇦⚽

But this also makes us think of another South African team winning every single day - quietly, faithfully, far from the stadium lights.

Our MAF pilots. Based across the African continent, flying into the places no road can reach, carrying medicine, hope, and help to those suffering in some of the world’s most remote and forgotten corners.

A huge shoutout today to Brad - one of our incredible South African bush pilots - doing what champions do: showing up, day after day, for people who are counting on him.

The impact of the Iran war is being felt far beyond the headlines. Rising global fuel costs caused by the conflict are increasing the cost of every humanitarian flight we operate. A threat to healthcare delivery, educational supplies, clean drinking water, vital relief aid, and the gospel.

With the end of our 80th anniversary year on the horizon, thoughts turn to the miracle of Christmas and the words of 2 Corinthians 9:15, ‘Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!’
The love shown by the Father in sending His Son to save us is - of course - the reason MAF was established in 1945, when a war-torn world was in desperate need of a guiding light. The support for isolated men, women and children that pours from your heart is similarly hard to describe.
Love is the gift that makes MAF a dynamic force for Gospel transformation.
Love recreates a broken world in His image.

MEET OUR EXHIBITORS: Mission Aviation Fellowship South Africa
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” (Rom 10:14) This is especially true for isolated communities across the globe.

MAF is the largest humanitarian airline in the world. We are a Christ-centred non-profit that uses aircraft to access the most isolated, disenfranchised communities.

All of our pilots, engineers, and other overseas staff are mission-orientated, enabling the Gospel to reach the ends of the earth. We cross war zones, mountains, rivers, deserts, and jungles – to reach areas that would otherwise be inaccessible due to a lack of infrastructure, or security.

We enable and partner with ministries and non-profits on the ground to provide medical assistance, disaster relief, education, technology-advancement, empowerment workshops, and Christian missions – such as bible access in heart languages, discipling, and support to local churches and missionaries. We believe that sharing the love of Christ is both a spiritual and physical act.
