Southern Africa: In loving memory of Nothabo Sibanda.
Gender Links and WOSSO are shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of Nothabo Sibanda, a fearless advocate, devoted mother, and a rising feminist leader whose life, though far too brief, exemplified extraordinary courage, compassion, and impact.

Hello Monday.
Ending violence against women starts with all of us.
Stand up. Speak out. Do better.
This is the message we are amplifying throughout the 16 Days of Activism, today and every day.

World AIDS Day

Today, WOSSO stands with communities affected by HIV. We honour the progress made and the lives impacted.

We remain committed to empowering young women and girls through SRHR education, access to information, and safe spaces for support.

HIV is not a life sentence, stigma is. Let’s choose compassion, inclusion, and dignity.

Together, we can end AIDS.

Gender Links (GL) proudly partnered for a side event at the G20 Social Summit in partnership with W20 and IDRC. The session highlighted the urgent need to centre care, equality and justice within global policy conversations.
GL also delivered a compelling advocacy skit calling for an end to all forms of Gender-Based Violence, using creative storytelling to shine a spotlight on the lived realities of women and girls across our communities.
Together, we continue pushing for bold, feminist solutions that uplift and protect women everywhere. πŸ’œβœŠπŸ½

Gender Links hosted a powerful Donor Roundtable yesterday, bringing together partners and WOSSO Fellows from across the region. 🌍✨

Our Fellows showcased their advocacy plans, shared real stories of impact from the WOSSO programme, and highlighted how sustained support is transforming lives and shifting power for women and girls at the margins.

Thank you to all our partners and donors who continue to invest in feminist leadership and movement-building. The message was clear: continued funding is not a luxury – it is essential to keep this work alive and growing.

πŸ’œ Speaker Spotlight | WOSSO Townhall Series
As we count down to the WOSSO Townhall on β€œSustaining Feminist Power: Safety, Security & Self Care,” we are thrilled to introduce our featured speaker, Viviene Bakainaga, People Team Lead at Gender Links.

Viviene leads with empathy and intention, reminding us that we cannot sustain the work if we neglect ourselves. As the facilitator of the Self Care and Well Being course under the Gender Links Academy, she champions wellness as a vital part of feminist leadership ensuring that care, reflection, and balance are woven into how we work, lead, and live.

With over a decade of experience in Human Resources and Administration across regional NGOs, international development organisations, and USAID-funded projects in Uganda, Eswatini, and South Africa, Viviene brings a deep understanding of people centred leadership and inclusive workplace culture.

Join us at the WOSSO Townhall to hear Viviene share practical insights on self care and well being, and how nurturing ourselves is essential to sustaining feminist power in our movements and institutions. πŸ’œ
