On Sunday, May 17, our nurse volunteers paid tribute to the life and professional career of Sukirty Catherine Millary, RN.
Sukirty began her career in her home country of India, where she graduated from the college of nursing in Lucknow. After marrying, she traveled to Saudi Arabia and then Nairobi, Kenya and Lusaka Zambia. Surkity was honored by the president of Zambia for her service in nursing. After moving to the United States in 1993 to be closer to family, where her compassionate heart and her desire to serve others led her to care for the elderly, providing personal care and companionship.
Nurses attending were Ellen Metzger,Pam Aument, Joanne Seneft, Bridget Bailin and Liz Winders.

Our Honor Guard had the honor of attending the Ribbon Cutting ceremony at Wagner-Elfner and Burg funeral home new location today.

Our Honor Guard volunteers paid tribute to the life and career of Molly Ruppert. Her life as a nurse held much meaning for her loved ones.

Volunteers present are Wendy Austin, Janet Potter, Lisa Smith, Pat Graybill-D’Ercole, Connie Gutshall, Ellen Metzger, Leslie Johnston and Liz Winders.

Florence Nightingale was born in 1820.

She famously worked a nurse during the Crimean war, and while she is perhaps most celebrated as the founder of modern nursing, she was also a social reformer and statistician, and wrote widely on all three subjects.

The Nurses' chapel here at the Abbey was re-dedicated in Florence's memory in 2010, a century after her death. The chapel has a dramatic stained glass window designed by Hugh Easton which includes this kneeling figure of a nurse.

Our Honor Guard performed a tribute this morning for Spiritrust Shrewsbury community. We found several nurses in the audience who were delightful. It was a heart warming event.

Our Nurse Honor Guard were privileged to pay tribute to the life and career of Lucy Carter Maseth today. It was cold and windy but the sunshine warmed our hearts.
