■Our Knowledge Objective focuses on education about community issues and processes as well as a greater awareness of opportunities.
■Our Skills Objective encourages each participant to grow through experience in five practices of exemplary leadership.
■Our Philosophical Objective centers on the concepts of community trusteeship and stewardship. LGMC recognizes the value of diversity and cultural

Celebrating 10 Years of Youth Leadership!
This morning, we had the privilege of celebrating a decade of our Youth Leadership Program and the incredible impact it has made across McHenry County
We were honored to gather with community members, educators, alumni, students, and supporters to reflect on the journey and share stories of growth, leadership, and service. A special thank you to the students from McHenry High School who shared how they are bringing the lessons and experiences gained through LGMC back to their school and fellow students.
We also heard from a parent and current youth advisor who spoke about his daughter's personal growth through the program and the positive influence LGMC continues to have in the Marengo community. It was especially meaningful to welcome members of the Core Class of 2015, whose vision and commitment helped launch this initiative and laid the foundation for what it has become today.
As we celebrate this milestone, we are filled with gratitude for the support of the McHenry County community. Your investment in developing young leaders has created lasting impact that extends far beyond the classroom and into our neighborhoods, organizations, and future workforce.
Here's to 10 years of empowering young leaders and to many more years of inspiring positive change throughout McHenry County!

LGMC Education Day: Inspiring a Shared Vision for Student Success

The Class of 2027 explored how education lays the foundation for lifelong success. Through conversations with education leaders and firsthand learning experiences, participants gained a deeper understanding of how schools help students build resilience, strengthen problem-solving skills, and discover pathways to college, careers, and beyond.

When communities invest in education, they invest in future generations of leaders, innovators, and changemakers. Thank you to Crystal Lake District 47 and McHenry County College for hosting, and to countywide educators who helped us envision what's possible when every student has the support and opportunities they need to thrive.
