Founded in 1981, Turning Point is McHenry County's only comprehensive domestic violence shelter and service agency, offering victims of domestic violence individual and group counseling, emergency shelter and 24 hour response among many other programs and services.

Thursday, 10/22, is DVAM Day of Giving, a day when community members can support their local domestic violence agency with a monetary or item donation. With increasing needs and costs, any donation can go a long way. 💜

Thank you to everyone who braved the rain last week and showed up for our Candlelit Vigil! 🕯️Thank you to Kate from FVCC for being a guest speaker and sharing your knowledge. Thank you to Nicole for sharing your incredibly powerful story. 💜

We are so grateful we were able to come together, support one another, and remember loved ones who lost their lives to domestic violence. This night emphasizes the importance of our mission at Turning Point and why it is so important to raise awareness and educate those around us about domestic violence and the resources available for survivors.

A special thank you to the city of Woodstock for lighting up the square purple for DVAM and our vigil. 💜

💜Today is Wear Purple Day! 💜 As McHenry County's only comprehensive domestic violence agency, Turning Point staff wear purple today to show support for survivors and to help raise awareness about domestic violence. We hope you all wore purple today to show your support and to help start the conversation with your community about what domestic violence is and how we can continue to support, believe, and empower survivors.

We hope to see you tonight at our Candlelit Vigil on the Woodstock Square from 6:00-7:00pm to remember and honor those who have lost their lives to domestic violence.🕯️💜
