Hello FB Family!
It has been a while since we did a Facebook posting to update our friends, family and supporters and we have missed reaching out.
Without a doubt we are still active and have been extremely busy since our last posting. We completed mission #7 this past February and it was successful and well worth the hard work that our teams did during mission week. We also were able to ship 12 barrels of food, clothing and supplies in November for the Hurricane Relief after the devasting hurricane that hit the island.
The 2026 mission saw additional services added to our week in Negril. As usual our medical clinic was well received and our team of medical volunteers and support staff dedicated themselves and worked tenaciously to serve 477 residents of the Negril community. This was the second year for our dental clinic and the super dental team of dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and clerk rocked out services to 273 residents. Additional services included wound care services and training to some of the nurses at the Negril Health Center, eye screening, wellness, health education, clothing outreach for the community, home visits to those physically unable to come to the clinic and providing supplies to the Negril Fire Department - all a major success due to the team members that staffed these areas.
Our annual partnership with the Fox Valley Sunset Rotary Club this year allowed the FV Rotary Club members to help do some major repairs to a rural primary school that had significant damage after Hurricane Melissa.
The Board of Directors of TJM and the Medical Mission Staff are extremely appreciative and grateful to the 44 hardworking volunteers for their selfless service and compassionate hearts that made the 2026 mission the huge success that it was. We undoubtedly know that the people of Negril would not have had the opportunity to receive these free services without them.
To our donors, supporters, friends and families that stand by us each year and generously donate financially, physically, and spiritually, we could never thank you enough. It is because of your support we are able to financially fund and provide all of these services FREE to the underserved and often overlooked residents in the Negril community. Special kudos to J.A. Frate in McHenry for meeting our shipping needs for both the Hurricane Relief project and our annual mission shipping; to the Fox Valley Sunset Rotary for their generous support to Hurricane Relief; and to the many donors who supported our Hurricane Relief project. To the Jamaican family/friends, who always work hard in volunteering and assisting us during mission week. Most importantly to the Negril New Testament Church for hosting our clinic each year.
