Who We Are
The Joshua Mission Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Our mission is focused on preventative medicine and healthcare education. The outreach program provides free cardiovascular screening using professional medical volunteers committed to decreasing cardiovascular disease for underserved population. The goal of the screening is to prevent progression of cardiovascular disease that could result in hospitalization or death, if left untreated. The mission provides screening clinics at various locations in the United States and in third world countries. Typically, we look for areas where these services are either not available or not affordable. The team is comprised of volunteers that include medical professionals such as doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other caring individuals. A typical mission provides screening for 600 adults in a one-week clinic. To date, we have been able to serve over 1,200 people within our first two missions. The adult cardiovascular screenings includes checking BMI, vital signs, finger sticks, lab testing for cholesterol, anemia screening and glucose, EKGs, an exam by a healthcare provider, treatment plan and medications, if needed. The mission is funded by individual monetary donations, corporate sponsors, churches, foundations, and other organizations that can donate supplies, cardiovascular screening equipment, and medication. We have a team of caring professionals that have a heart for serving. All team members donate their professional skills, time and pays for their own travel expenses, lodging and food.
