Woodstock Community Choir

Woodstock Community Choir The Woodstock Community Choir is the official choir of the City of Woodstock, Illinois. Every voice matters, and each singer brings a unique spark to the stage.

For more than a decade, the choir has been a welcoming space where music brings people together and strengthens community bonds. Our ensemble is diverse, lively, and supportive—we laugh together, learn together, and create not only beautiful music, but meaningful, lasting relationships. The choir performs two concerts a year—in the spring and fall—as well as several civic events throughout the yea

r including the Lighting of the Square ceremony in November. Our performances showcase the full choir as well as the individual talents of our members through solos, duets, and small ensemble performances. We hope our spirit of camaraderie, community, and love of music is felt by—and inspires—everyone who joins us at our performances. As a 501c(3) non-profit organization, the Woodstock Community Choir remains dedicated to its mission of “Building Community Through Singing!” For more information, please visit their website at woodstockcommunitychor.org. 🎵🌟

Even though summer is just getting started, we're already looking forward to fall. 🎶

We are excited to announce the theme for our fall concert: Roots & Rhythm.

Gospel, folk, blues, and early rock and roll are the foundation that so much of American music was built on. These genres have deep roots that crossed boundaries, shaped culture, and still resonate today.

More details coming soon — including how you can be part of it. 🎵

This Memorial Day, we are honored to raise our voices for our community.

A select group of Woodstock Community Choir singers will be performing the National Anthem at the Woodstock Memorial Day Celebration on Monday, May 25th at 10:00am on the Woodstock Square. It's a privilege to play even a small part in a day set aside to honor those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

We hope to see you there. 🇺🇸

What a day. 🌊
Thank you to everyone who joined us last weekend at the Woodstock Opera House for Songs of the Skies and Seas: A Musical Journey. Seeing so many familiar faces—and new ones—sharing in an afternoon of music is exactly what the Woodstock Community Choir is all about.

To our singers: your hard work, dedication, and heart were on full display. We are so proud of what we created together this season.

To our audience: thank you for your warmth, your enthusiasm, and your support. You make it all worthwhile.

And a heartfelt thank you to our generous local business sponsors who help make it all possible: Kishwaukee Brewing, Prairie Community Bank, Warp Corps, Wheelhouse Coffee & Pottery, Material Things Artisan Market, Kishwaukee Trail Daughters of the American Revolution, and McHenry Heating & Air Conditioning. We are grateful for your continued support of live music and community in Woodstock.

Until next time. 🎶

🏔️ Stories of the Skies and Seas 🦅
"Touch the Sky" (Julie Fowlis, 2012)

There are moments in film that make you want to stand up and cheer — and Touch the Sky is one of them. Written by Alex Mandel and performed by the extraordinary Scottish Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis, it soars through Pixar's Brave as young Merida rides freely through the wild Scottish Highlands, finally, fully, gloriously herself.

In a film about finding the courage to claim your own story, this is the moment everything opens up. Celtic in its roots, cinematic in its sweep, it pulses with the feeling of forward motion — of adventure not just imagined but lived. A call to discover what's waiting just beyond the horizon.

We can't wait to send it soaring in the concert hall this spring.

🎟️ Tickets: $7 / Sunday May 3rd, 3:00pm / Woodstock Opera House
