Bookmarks is thrilled to be working with Adrienne Young on bringing readers signed copies of the much anticipated sequel in the Fallen City duology! Chosen Son releases on December 15, and our staff are already loving it as much as we loved Fallen City.

Order by Sunday, November 29 to receive a personalized copy of the book. Signed copies can still be purchased after November 29. You also have the option to add a signed copy of Fallen City to your order.

Happy Sunday! Here is everything we have going on at Bookmarks this week!

MONDAY:
Beginning this Monday, our new bookstore hours will be in effect. Our updated hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 7 PM, and Sunday from noon to 6 PM.

TUESDAY:
BOOK LAUNCH OF THE PARADOX CLUB
Join us in celebrating the launch of Charlie Lovett's latest novel, The Paradox Club, at the Bookmarks Bookstore on Tuesday, September 1. Charlie Lovett will be in conversation with Virginia Evans, author of The Correspondent. Tickets include admission to the event and a pre-signed copy of the featured book.

BOOKMARKS WILL CLOSE EARLY TO SHOPPERS

Browse a pop-up bookstore from Bookmarks, craft your own zine, create poetry from unexpected words, or let go of whatever's on your mind at our Feelings Shred station. Test your literary knowledge during Book Bingo for a chance to win a prize basket, enjoy live open mic performances and slam poetry hosted by Matt Brady, and explore the StarLab in La STEAM.

Heads up, shoppers!

Starting next week, on Monday, August 31st, our bookstore hours are changing.

Our new hours will be:
Monday- Saturday 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM

These hours may be affected by in-store events, which can be viewed on our events calendar on our website.

Our annual Festival of Books and Authors is approaching, and volunteers like you are the reason we can do what we do year after year.

-GETTING STARTED-
If you are new to volunteering with Bookmarks, you can visit https://buff.ly/f5YhobM and click "Create your volunteer profile" to get started. You need to complete a background check if you are over 18.

Once you have completed the sign-up steps, you will have access to a volunteer portal. You will need to sign up for a festival training session. Both in-person and virtual training sessions will be available.

* Book Trolley Team
* Kids' Area Team
* Costumes Team
* Parking Team
* Welcome Booth Team
* Logistics Team

Signing up on the website does not obligate you to anything, but it is the best way to get informed about volunteering.

You can also join us at the bookstore on September 2nd at 6:00 PM for a general volunteer information and training session if you'd like to learn more.

Bookmarks is thrilled to present Bonnie Garmus in partnership with Salem College.

Join us at Hanes Auditorium on Wednesday, October 21, to hear from Bonnie Garmus about her new book Peck & Peck in a conversation with Charlie Lovett, author of The Enigma Affair and The Paradox Club.

Tickets are $35 (plus taxes & fees) and include admission to the event, a pre-signed copy of Peck & Peck, and the chance to get a professional photo with Bonnie Garmus after the talk.
