📣 Guess what y’all?! It’s PARADE TIME! 🎉

Applications for the 2026 WS Ambassadors Holiday Parade are open now through Nov. 6.

🌲 ❄️ 🕎 🥂 🪘 🪵

You can go now to wsparade.com to apply!
✨
The WS Ambassadors Holiday Parade takes place this year at 5 PM on Saturday, December 5th, downtown as always.
✨
Please Note: Due to space constraints in the narrow downtown streets, and the fact that the City of Winston-Salem depends on the parade being done by 6:30 PM for the annual Tree Lighting in Corpening Plaza, we are setting a maximum of 75 entries this year. Therefore, while we are planning on registration being open until Friday, November 6th, we reserve the right to close registration early if we get to 75 entries before that date.
✨
Also note that NO 🛑 late entries will be accepted this year, so if your organization would like to participate this year, please make every effort to apply before the end of October.
✅
See you soon, Winston-Salem! We can’t wait to celebrate holiday magic with you in just 59 days!

✨ Board Member Spotlight: Veronica Smith ✨
“Seeing how much The Grackle has brought
community together has truly warmed my heart and made me feel like storytelling is truly the great connector.”

Veronica has spent the last two years building rooms where people can be heard. In 2024 she founded The Healing Pen, guiding group journaling sessions rooted in healing through the art of journaling. She noticed
something in those rooms: “Unbeknownst to the journaler, when they would read aloud, they were telling their story. I saw how impactful and cathartic it was. So I wanted to curate a space where people could do that in our community.”

That became The Grackle. It’s a free storytelling night at Lot 63’s Underground that packed the house on night one and hasn’t slowed down since.

Congratulations, Veronica! The Go-To Winston-Salem just published a feature on her work, so make sure to check it out!

And a shoutout to fellow board member Carrena, who was a Storyteller at the second Grackle! We love our board members!
