Congratulations to Emily Harkins, a 2025 Everyday Award winner!🏅

Emily serves as the Lead Pastor and Mission Developer of The Dwelling in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She founded The Dwelling in 2020 and has been serving in this role ever since, helping grow a community rooted in radical hospitality, shared meals, worship, and advocacy alongside our neighbors. Her work brings together people from many different walks of life, especially those who have experienced housing instability or marginalization, to build a community where everyone is known, valued, and has a place at the table.

The Dwelling is building a space where labels (created by society) fall away and people are known by their names, their stories, and their gifts. When people share space, meals, leadership, and life together across differences, something powerful happens. It reminds us that a more compassionate, more connected way of being together is possible.

One thing Emily is especially passionate about in Winston-Salem is building a community that refuses to look away from our neighbors who are struggling. She cares deeply about the work happening here to address homelessness and housing instability, and about bringing people together across churches, nonprofits, and neighborhoods to create real solutions. Winston-Salem has the kind of heart and collaboration that makes it possible to model what a city can look like when people choose dignity, belonging, and shared responsibility for one another.

Congratulations to Carloe Moser, a 2025 Everyday Award winner!🏅

Carloe was born and raised in Winston-Salem. He has been working to support youth in foster care since 2018. Since 2023, he has been the Coordinator of the LIGHHT program at Crosby Scholars. The LIGHHT program helps youth in care navigate through middle and high school with consistency, support, and resources, by bringing college and career awareness and building a toolkit for life.

Carloe wants to help people see the jewel inside of themselves and know that the work is not meant to be done alone. As his mentor told him in college, “life is all about relationships. The rest is just details.”

One of Carloe’s favorite things about Winston-salem is the number and breadth of small businesses. He is passionate about supporting local business whenever possible.

Congratulations to Jasmynn Blackshear, a 2025 Everyday Award winner!

Jasmynn is a graduate of Winston-Salem State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work and embraced the university’s guiding principle to “Enter to Learn, Depart to Serve.” Since then, she has remained committed to living out that mission through service, mentorship, and community engagement.

For the past three years, Jasmynn has served as a Program Facilitator with LEAD GIRLS of NC Inc., where she mentors and empowers young girls during some of the most formative years of their lives. Through leadership development, life-skills programming, and meaningful mentorship, she works to help young women build confidence, discover their voices, and recognize the power they hold to shape their own futures.

Although not originally from Winston-Salem, the city has become her home and a place where her passion for service has been able to flourish. Jasmynn is also currently pursuing a future career in physical therapy, with plans to attend a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. Her goal is to continue serving others by promoting physical wellness, resilience, and healing within the communities she loves.

In her free time, Jasmynn enjoys outdoor adventure, quality time with friends and family, and expressing her creativity through arts and crafts, especially LEGO’s!

Come celebrate with us at the WS Ambassadors Annual Meeting at 1:30 on Saturday, March 21st at the Delta Arts Center! Tickets at link in bio.
