North Carolina’s child care requirements are designed to protect the health, safety and well-being of children in licensed child care centers and family child care homes.

Licensed programs must maintain at least a 75% compliance.

CCRC supports child care providers with professional development, practical resources and hands-on guidance to help them understand these requirements and create safe, nurturing environments for young children.

Give a one time gift or join our community of Child Care Champions by making a monthly donation and together, we can help ensure children receive the quality care they deserve.

Did you know developing a strong attention span is one of the most important skills children build during their preschool years.

Through consistent routines, hands-on activities and meaningful play, young children gradually learn how to focus, follow directions and remain engaged in a task.

CCRC supports child care programs with training, resources and hands-on guidance that help early educators provide safe, nurturing and high-quality learning experiences.

Today’s Garden Pick: Melon Tulip & Daffodil Mix! 🌼

Did you know tulips and daffodils make wonderful garden companions?

This beautiful mix combines coral-pink Melon Tulips with creamy daffodils featuring soft peach centers, creating layers of color, shape, and texture as your spring garden comes to life.

And while they look beautiful together, there’s another bonus: daffodils are naturally less appealing to deer and many garden pests, making them a practical addition to spring beds and borders.

Plant this mix in the fall and look forward to a gorgeous burst of spring color—all while supporting CCRC.

Save the Date: Farm to CACFP Week is October 18–24, 2026! 🥕🍎

Farm to CACFP Week celebrates the connection between local foods, nutrition education, gardening and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

For child care programs, it’s a great opportunity to help children discover where their food comes from, explore fresh fruits and vegetables, try new foods and learn about healthy eating through hands-on experiences. 🌽🍓🥬

Even simple activities can make a difference—planting seeds, tasting a locally grown fruit or vegetable, talking about how food grows or incorporating local ingredients into your CACFP meals and snacks.

The National CACFP Association also offers free resources and activities to help programs participate.

📅 Mark your calendar for October 18–24 and start planning how your program will celebrate Farm to CACFP Week!
