Northwest Piedmont Supporters of Wounded Veterans Also open to the public.. The Purple Heart decoration goes to those who've been wounded or killed while serving with the US Military.

Our mission is to locate, verify and recognize WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, OEF, OIF and other Purple Heart recipients, their spouses and children and honor them at our annual banquet every August. The specific purpose for which the corporation is organized is to recognize the recipients of the Purple Heart in Northwest Piedmont area of North Carolina. Established by George Washington in 17

82 as the Badge of Military Merit, the Purple Heart's order include the phase "Let it be known that he who wears the military order of the Purple Heart has given of his blood in the defense of his homeland and shall forever be revered by his fellow countrymen." The Northwest Piedmont Purple Heart Foundation is a 501(3)(c) organization.

Hey Fellow Veterans,

I am a Past Commander of American Legion Post 36. I'm asking for some help. I'm the treasure of the Northwest Piedmont Supporters of Wounded Veterans (formerly the Northwest Piedmont Purple Heart Foundation, Inc. The name had to be changed due to a trademark of the words Purple Heart.)

Anyway, because of the legal problems pertaining to the trademark, we need to raise about $18,000 to put on the dinner to honor the Purple Heart recipients. A $50 donation will pay for a veteran and guests dinner. So, would you please help us.
