The Challenge Program’s mission is to provide vocational training in construction and woodworking for youth, ages 18 to 24 with significant barriers, to empower them with confidence and skills, to become highly employable and self-sufficient. Our mission is to provide vocational training for Delaware’s at-risk youth to empower them with the confidence, skills and purpose needed to become productive members of society. Since 1995, the Challenge Program has offered young people the opportunity to learn valuable construction skills, assistance in earning a high school diploma or GED and job placement services.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Development Director, Becca Johnson.

More than a colleague, Becca was an important part of our organization and a person whose dedication, compassion, and commitment to our mission touched the lives of so many. She will be deeply missed by her colleagues, the individuals we serve, and the entire community.

We are grateful for the time we shared with her and the lasting impact she made on our organization. Our hearts are with her family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Rebecca “Becca” Johnson passed away at the age of 62. Becca is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Jane (Treganza) Ronayne and Robert E. Moore. This week, our Program Manager Bri and some of our trainees travelled to Lehigh University to identify and tag trees which are being removed to build the East Hill Residential Halls complex designed by . The trees which will be donated to CP Furniture will be used for Fallen Log Program saw mill practice. It was a great field trip and learning experience!
