🚔 HELPING KEEP IMPAIRED DRIVERS OFF THE ROAD IN HIRAM, OHIO!

Did you know that portable breath testers help law enforcement officers assess possible alcohol impairment during roadside investigations?

Thanks to USDSA's Safety Equipment Donation Program, the Hiram Police Department in Ohio recently received an Intoxilyzer 800 Portable Breath Tester (PBT)!

A portable breath tester helps officers obtain an on-the-spot estimate of a driver's breath alcohol concentration, providing an additional tool during impaired-driving investigations.

When an active shooter situation unfolds, every second counts. Officers must be prepared to make critical decisions, work as a team, and respond quickly to protect lives.

USDSA trainers recently traveled to Cross City, Florida, for a Tactical Entry / Active Shooter Training hosted by the Dixie County Sheriff’s Office.

Through realistic, hands-on scenarios, officers strengthen their communication, teamwork, and tactical response skills to better prepare for dangerous situations they hope never to encounter.

Active shooter response training isn't just about tactical skills. It also emphasizes decision-making under pressure, communication, and coordination among responding officers.

Recently, The Tolland MA Police Department received a RTS 14x24 R***e Rated Mini-Shield.

USDSA recently donated 2 spike strips to the Enterprise Police Department in Alabama. This tire-deflation tool gives officers another option for bringing a fleeing vehicle to a stop, helping reduce the risks that dangerous pursuits pose to officers, drivers, and bystanders.

🚔 EXPLORING THE LATEST IN LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING TECHNOLOGY

From simulated fi****ms to interactive targets, USDSA trainers recently had an opportunity to explore new technologies designed to enhance law enforcement training.

We recently welcomed Nancy Lewis from Smart Fi****ms Training Devices, who spent the day with our USDSA team & City of Tega Cay, SC Police Department to showcase some of the company's newest training equipment and innovations.

Our law enforcement trainers had the opportunity to get hands-on experience with the latest training tools and explore how emerging technology can enhance realistic, scenario-based instruction.

Why does this matter? The more realistic and effective the training environment, the better opportunities officers have to practice decision-making, build confidence, and sharpen critical skills before facing dangerous situations in the field.

🚔 DAY 2 IN SOUTH CAROLINA: TRAINING ALERT

Communication between officers is one of the most important elements of a high-risk vehicle stop.

During these situations, officers must work together, clearly communicate, and coordinate their actions to reduce risks to themselves and the public.

Today, officers from the City of Tega Cay, SC Police Department & Kershaw County Sheriff's Office are continuing their High-Risk Vehicle Stop Training with USDSA trainers, putting these critical skills into practice.

What happens when a routine traffic stop becomes anything but routine?

Recently, USDSA trainers traveled to South Carolina for a High-Risk Vehicle Stop Training hosted by the City of Tega Cay, SC Police Department, with officers from Tega Cay PD and the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office participating.

During high-risk situations, officers must make split-second decisions while protecting themselves, fellow officers, and the public. Hands-on training helps officers strengthen their communication, coordination, and decision-making skills before encountering these situations in the field.
