The Kansas Cliff Club, Inc. is a private, grassroots, non-profit organization created for the purpose of supporting the sport of rock climbing in Wichita. Located in a vacated concrete plant at 4456 South Clifton, the KCC offers 65 and 80-foot outdoor climbs and 32-foot indoor climbs. s, in difficulties ranging from beginner to advanced. The Kansas Cliff Club is not a typical rock climbing gym. Members in good standing are equal owner/partner of the Kansas Cliff Club and are provided a combination for access. The combination changes monthly. Members must possess their own equipment and have or develop the necessary skills to use that equipment. Top-rope belay and lead climbing and belay certification is necessary and is provided by appointment. The member should be ready to demonstrate equipment, knowledge and ability. There is a $5 cost for certification. Membership Classes are held on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm sharp. You must demonstrate that you are competent to top rope belay (with no help) in order to pass the belay certification in order to become a member. The class is usually 2 hours depending on class size. There must be atleast 2 people signed up prior for there to be a class. Sign-up is on the white board next to the bathroom (you cannot sign up on Facebook). Sign-up is not required, but it will help ensure that there is a class when you show up. If you sign up and don't show, your name will be erased after that week's class. You must be prepared to pay atleast one month membership fee plus the $5 certification fee ($35 total) to receive the access code. Single membership $225/year

Q: Is this page still active/KCC still open? A: Yes, as of 2021
Q: What are your hours? A: We don't have hours or paid staff. Members have 24/7/365 access. Q: Do you have to be a member to climb at the KCC? A: No, but you would have to be the guest of a member. Other than that, you cannot just pay a day fee and climb - again we are a club not a gym. Q: Is there a membership class this coming first Tuesday of the month? A: Yes, at 6:00pm
Q: I can't make it to the membership class, is there another time I can do it? A: If you contact the page we can set up an appointment. Q: What do I need to bring to the membership class? A: At least a check for $35, your harness and belay device w/ locking carabiner. Chalk and chalk bag, shoes, and rope are optional. The KCC does not supply any equipment during or after membership. Q: Where can I buy climbing gear in Wichita? A: We recommend REI. They have everything you need. Q: Is there a belay class for people that don't know how to belay? Sign up on the white board with your phone number. The guy that teaches the belay class will call you when there is enough folks signed up to have the class. There is a fee for the class of 20$. The YMCA, Genesis, and WSU also have classes.
