MISSION STATEMENT: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The Salvation Army is many things to many people. Those struggling to make ends meet find a helping hand to move back
toward self-sufficiency. During times of disaster, those affected receive accommodations, a hot meal and assistance getting things back to normal. Families going through difficult times experience spiritual care to restore hope and loving support from a community of believers. Whether it's a hot meal, warm blanket, a fan, school supplies, or a box of groceries to make it to the end of the month, The Salvation Army stands ready to share the love of Jesus Christ with everyone. Wherever there is a need in Sedgwick or Butler County you'll find The Salvation Army. We strive to restore hope and transform lives every day of the year. We care for homeless and needy families, but also serve tens of thousands of our neighbors through a myriad of other services all year long. These include:
Emergency Disaster Services which include assisting survivors of natural and man-made disasters to recover and rebuild their lives. Social Service programs provide food, shelter, clothing, and financial assistance. Casework and Counseling with programs for health care and residential assistance and abuse counseling. Christmas Programs in which our famous Red Kettles are a centerpiece, to help families and individuals financially at year-end with toys, meals, and other assistance. Religious Services provide a place of worship and community without discrimination in every zip code across the United States. Veterans Services provide a range of support, gifts, counseling, housing assistance, and comfort to those in need. The Salvation Army serves South Central Kansas at four locations:
