Abigail Rexford our Miss Wichita Asian Association 2025 👑✨

After earning Second Runner-Up at Miss Kansas America, Abby continues to make our community proud. Through her platform, Beyond the Box, she has courageously shared her story of being found in a cardboard box in China during the country’s one-child policy.

Beyond the pageant stage, she is a Division I athlete at Wichita State University with dreams of opening her own business. Now, she’s representing Wichita on the Miss Kansas Volunteer stage, and we’re so excited to cheer her on!

Abby, thank you for sharing your story and letting our community be part of your journey. We’re rooting for you in this next chapter and every one after it!

Meet Contestant #6 for the Miss Wichita Asian Festival 2026 Pageant ✨

Kumusta and hello everyone! 🇵🇭✨

My name is Brandy Subico, and I am so honored to proudly represent the Philippines once again in this year’s MWAF pageant! I am currently pursuing two passions of mine, nursing and becoming a flight attendant. Although they are two different paths, both reflect who I am! That being someone who loves caring for others, connecting with people, and experiencing different cultures and communities.

Outside of school and work, I love staying active, spending time with the people I love, and staying involved in my Filipino community. Being part of MWAF has given me an even greater appreciation for my heritage and the opportunity to share the culture that has shaped so much of who I am.

Being Filipino American has taught me the importance of family, hard work, humility, and staying connected to my roots. Representing the Philippines is more than wearing a sash. It is an opportunity to share the strength, beauty, hospitality, and heart of the Filipino people. 🇵🇭

This year, I hope to continue using my voice to encourage young women to embrace every part of who they are and to never feel like they have to choose just one dream or one path for their future. Our backgrounds, ambitions, and experiences are all parts of what make us unique.

I’m incredibly grateful to continue this journey, grow as a young woman, and represent a culture that I am so proud to call my own.

Meet Contestant #5 for the Miss Wichita Asian Festival 2026 Pageant ✨

Xin chào, and hello Wichita! My name is Jasmine Võ-Nguyễn, proudly representing Việt Nam!

I am a student at Wichita State University pursuing a career in healthcare, with the goal of advocating for underserved communities. Outside of academics, I enjoy photography, cultural dance, reading, exploring Wichita, and celebrating Asian American representation through service and leadership.

Much of my work centers on cultural confidence: empowering individuals to embrace their heritage with pride and recognize their culture as a source of strength rather than a limitation. For me, cultural confidence is not just an idea. It is reflected in the work I already do and the example I strive to set.

Through Wichita State’s Engagement and Belonging Office, the Asian Student Conference (ASC), the Midwest Asian American Student Union (MAASU), and other community spaces, I have helped create opportunities for Asian Americans to celebrate their identities, connect with their cultures, and feel confident in who they are.

As I proudly represent Việt Nam on the Miss Wichita Asian Festival pageant stage, I am excited to continue this work with intention, using my voice and experiences to build meaningful connections and make a lasting impact in the Wichita community.

Meet Contestant #4 for the Miss Wichita Asian Festival 2026 Pageant ✨

Xin chào everyone! My name is Jolyne Le, and I’m a 16-year-old junior at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School, proudly representing Vietnam in the 2026 Miss Wichita Asian Festival Pageant! Growing up in a community with little diversity, I stayed connected to my Vietnamese heritage through art, music, dance, and cultural events. Those experiences inspired me to help others embrace the traditions that make them unique. With a passion for policy, business, and healthcare, I founded A Hope for Health, a nonprofit providing health literacy education and free medical care bags to children in underserved communities. I also run a macaron business with two local café partnerships and orders from across the country! Beyond these projects, I serve in Kansas’ YLINK and MYC, advocating for mental health awareness. I’m also Bishop Carroll’s HOSA president, a policy debate captain, and a 2027 Student Visionary for Blood Cancer United. As Miss Wichita Asian Festival, I would encourage Asian Americans to embrace every part of their identity. I want every young person to know that where they come from is not something that limits them, but something that can empower them.

Meet Contestant #3 for the Miss Wichita Asian Festival 2026 Pageant✨

Hi, I’m Emalyn Mỹ Thuỳ Đặng, and I’m proud to represent Vietnam at the Miss Wichita Asian Festival. I’m a junior at Derby High School and interested in studying computer engineering. I founded our Women in STEM Club with my co-president, serve as DECA secretary, and participate in robotics, National Honor Society, and Student Council.

Outside of school, I love playing guitar and singing. As a Vietnamese American, I hope to share my culture through this festival and encourage younger people to take pride in their roots while pursuing whatever interests them.

Hi! My name is Valerie Mah, and I am honored to serve as a representative of the Miss Wichita Asian Festival. As a young woman passionate about culture, community, and connection, I am grateful for the opportunity to represent the Asian community here in Wichita.

Through this experience, I hope to celebrate my Chinese culture, share meaningful traditions with others, and help create opportunities for people of all backgrounds to learn, connect, and appreciate the diversity within our community. I believe representation is about more than wearing a title—it is about using your voice, showing up for others, and creating a positive impact.

Outside of MWAF, I am a high school student who enjoys spending time with friends and family, and doing sports, and finding creative ways to connect with others. My faith is also an important part of who I am and inspires me to lead with kindness, confidence, and purpose.

I am so excited for this journey and incredibly thankful for the opportunity to represent, learn, and serve my community. I look forward to meeting new people, sharing my culture, and making memories along the way!

Meet Contestant #1 for the Miss Wichita Asian Festival 2026 Pageant ✨

Hello everyone! My name is Anh Malakar and I am so excited to be able to represent Nepal for this year’s Miss Wichita Asian Festival. I am 16 years old and currently a junior at Goddard High School. After graduation, I plan to attend college to further my education in either the medical or engineering fields of study. Outside of school I enjoy hiking, painting, and spending time with my friends and family.

I would like to also thank the Miss Wichita Asian Festival organization for giving me this great opportunity to share my culture and heritage to others. When I was younger, I was timid about showing off my culture, but now I am passionate in showing it off and embracing it. With my platform as a contestant of Nepal, I hope to encourage other generations to find and embrace their own ways to take pride in their culture and traditions everyday. Thank you!

From representing our community to taking the stage at Miss Kansas Teen this June, Ananya has made us so proud! She earned Overall Talent Winner and 4th Runner-Up while continuing to excel as an IB student at Wichita East High School and a classically trained dancer.

Ananya, thank you for sharing your talent, dedication, and love for our community throughout your reign. We’re grateful to have had you as our Festival queen and can’t wait to cheer you on in everything that comes next!
