Southside DMOP ended the end of the year luncheon with great food and fellowship. The young men had the opportunity to experience a meal a drink from ! We want to show our appreciation to Mr. Selby for cooking on the grill, Mr. Harrell for baking the cake, Coach Warren for cooking the Mac-n-cheese, Ms. Everette for making the bake beans. On Wednesday our P.S. Jones Middle School DMOP enjoyed an end of the school year luncheon. We are grateful to have a chapter at P.S. Jones with a great group of young men. We look forward in supporting at P.S. Jones next year. We want to appreciate Mr. Keyes at PSJ for cooking the hot dogs and burgers on the grill.

The southside chapter were honored to have Apostle Donald Harrell of Kingdom Restoration Revival Center as our guest speaker. He made a powerful impact on our young men, speaking on key topics like identity, recognition, and influence. Through wisdom and real-life insight, he reminded them that they each have a purpose and challenged them to walk boldly in their authority.

Our young men left feeling inspired, uplifted, and grounded in the truth that their lives have meaning and direction.

We also proudly recognized Steven Jones Jr. as our Distinguished Man of the Month! Steven demonstrates outstanding commitment with perfect attendance and consistently brings positive energy. He is also excelling academically.

💭✨ Chasing Your Dreams Starts Now ✨💭

Today in DMOP CMS, our own A’davion O’neal stepped up and delivered a powerful message on “Chasing Your Dreams.” 👏🏾

He challenged the group to think beyond where they are and focus on where they’re going. From understanding what it truly means to follow your dreams, to pushing through obstacles, and growing from setbacks—his words were both real and relatable.

💡 Dreams don’t come easy.
💪🏾 Challenges will come.
📈 But growth happens when you don’t quit.

Moments like this remind us that leadership is already developing within our young men. When they speak, others listen—and when they lead, others follow.

Mr. Williams and Mr. Selby spent time with the group today discussing how to set your day up for success. The focus was on preparation—starting with laying out your clothes the night before to eliminate unnecessary stress in the morning.

We also had an engaging conversation about individual morning routines and how the way you start your day can impact your mindset and productivity.

Topics included the importance of personal hygiene, presenting yourself well by ironing your clothes, and using morning affirmations to build confidence and set a positive tone for the day.

We had volunteers to show off their ironing skills and each of them won a gift card!

Small habits create strong foundations. Let’s start each day with purpose.

We were also honored to have two guests sit in on our meeting, Mr. Victor and Mr. Orlando from the NC Center for Resilience & Learning. We appreciate them taking the time to join and support our young men.

Sway with Pride visited Southside DMOP and spoke on the title Mirrors, Not Masks: Identity, Healing, and Emotional Honesty. Sway works with Pride, an organization in Greenville that works with youth.

Sway uses his personal life experiences. It was a great interactive experience and one that will be remembered for quite some time.

🚗🍦 Learning + Reward = A Powerful Day at DMOP Southside! 💪🏾

Our young men at DMOP Southside were treated to some well-earned ice cream 🍨—but that was just the beginning. We also had a special guest, Mr. Kennis Willis from PS Jones DMOP, who came through and dropped some real-life knowledge as a “Man Mechanic” 🔧

He taught our mentees essential life skills every young man should know:
✅ How to check oil and coolant
✅ The importance of proper tire pressure
✅ How to safely change a tire
✅ Understanding both safety procedures and proper step-by-step techniques

This wasn’t just about cars—it was about building confidence, responsibility, and independence.

We’re not just mentoring… we’re preparing these young men for life. 💼👑
