Welcome our new Chairman of the Board, Jamie Brookover! 🤠

Jamie Brookover brings 21 years of business leadership, community service, and a genuine passion for the EQUI-KIDS mission to our Board of Directors. Prior to joining EQUI-KIDS, Jamie served on the Development Board at CHKD. He currently works as Regional Manager for UCL Swift.

Jamie is not shy about showing his EQUI-KIDS spirit. He is pictured playing in our recent Pony Up Golf Tournament sporting his custom-made EQUI-KIDS horse pants, a tournament highlight! ⛳

We are grateful for Jamie’s enthusiasm for Board service and his commitment to EQUI-KIDS’ impact throughout the greater Hampton Roads community. With his children actively involved in the equine and riding community, Jamie has a deep appreciation for the powerful role equine-assisted services can play in supporting mental health and well-being.

Interested in joining Jamie in making an impact? If you or someone you know would like to use your experience, connections, and leadership to help advance our mission for the people we serve, please reach out to [email protected] for additional information. 🌟

The barn will never quite be the same. Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to one of our beloved EQUI-KIDS herd members and longtime equine friend, Jill. 💔🫏

Jill was the famous mule in our program and was loved by all. She was with us for over 10 years and after a natural decline in health that comes from age, she is finally across rainbow bridge where she can run free. To all who have been impacted by Jill's life (especially her favorites--you know who you are), we encourage you to take the lessons you received from her quiet strength and carry them forward in her honor. 🕯️

Our deepest gratitude goes out to Eileen Garcia and family, faithful sponsors of Jill who loved her immensely. Thank you to our community for sharing our grief, and we welcome your memories of Jill in the comments. Our team will be available to reminisce about her the next time you are at the farm! 🌈
