Friends of The Virginia Beach Mounted Police 501c3 Non-Profit (EIN 54-1731011) that supports the Virginia Beach Police Mounted Patrol.

Since its inception in 1986, The Friends have supported the Virginia Beach Police Mounted Patrol. Through a unique charter with the City of Virginia Beach, our horses are used by the mounted unit for as long as they are fit for duty. Our funds are used to purchase horses to loan to the unit for mounted patrol work and supplemental equipment.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming our 911 Dispatch Academy to the Mounted Patrol barn for a tour.

Our dispatchers are a vital part of every call for service, and it was great to give them a closer look at another side of public safety. They had the chance to meet our horses, learn how the Mounted Patrol Unit operates, and see how our officers and equine partners support the city during patrols, special events, and large-scale operations.

We appreciate the important work our dispatchers do behind the scenes every day and enjoyed having the academy spend some time with us!

Where: VB Mounted Police Barn, 2089 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, VA

This is a rain or shine event. Vendor set up is inside the riding arena and protected from weather.
